Impressed with how she tackled this subject matter from the viewpoint of Black folks in the South during 20th century segregation. The obliviousness of the white families, who thought they treated their help "like family", was surprisingly candid. I had to step away for a day or two because I needed a break from Hilly - couldn't stomach her for a while; good character to reveal. She existed.
