Did you know this book won a Pulitzer Prize? I wonder why and/or how? It is a simple book to read, even the paper it is printed on is light weight. Ms. Brooks uses the father figure from Louisa May Alcott's, Little Women,Mr. March to tell a overly dramatic, sappy tale set in the south during the Civil War. And of course we all know he returns safe and somewhat sound.
