We Real Cool: Black Men and Masculinity

I felt I was snooping on a private conversation within the black community here. So much appreciated hooks compassion for humanity of all kinds and acknowledgment of how our childhood wounds cause is to wound each other. Black men especially have not been allowed to develop wholly and fully. Her tracing of history, pop culture and psychology are all very useful. And it comes from a feminist anti-racist perspective which I loved. She calls out all those who have contributed to making black men feel they must call on patriarchy in order to have value. Some of the examples are dated today but the argument still stands.
