I would've said that this is the best book that I have ever read, to date, as I found it to be surprisingly and compellingly intellectual throughout, without a doubt much more than I found Edward Said's "Orientalism" to be, but I've also read Salim Ahmad sahab's brilliant "Charagh-e-Neem-Shab" (one of his poetry collections) so I have no choice but to say that "Restating Orientalism" is my second favourite book, to date. What a writer and intellectual though Wael B. Hallaq is, mashaAllah! 🥲
