The Housemaid's Secret (The Housemaid, #2)

** spoiler alert **
“The Housemaid’s Secret is similar to “The Housemaid, except this time the abuser is NOT the husband. I was thrilled to see that Millie and Enzo were part of this continuation of the series. I’m also glad they were able to have their happy ending. This book didn’t have me guessing or assuming what was going to happen next like a few of Freida’s books have done. I was certainly shocked to see that Wendy’s character was a very manipulative, gold digging, lying, mentally abusive woman. The way she tried to pin the murder of her husband on Millie, who already had a criminal record of committing murder, was unfair. I can’t imagine how many people this has happened to in real life because they are an easy suspect. In the end, Millie was free and Wendy “killed herself. At least, that’s what Marybeth, who’s husband was having an affair with Wendy, made her write in her suicide note. I couldn’t put this book down because I’ve developed a connection with Millie and wanted to know if she wouldn’t be going back to prison after all! She deserves to live a life of freedom!!
