Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11182 comments 25.4 - JennRenee's task: Fall into T.V.
The beginning of fall is a bittersweet time for me, I love television! I watch shows almost as much as I read. With Fall coming, I am saying goodbye to some of my Summer shows, saying welcome back to my favorite Fall shows and getting introduced to some brand new shows.

So for this task and choose 2 different options from the number rolled.

Required: State what number you rolled and the options you chose when posting.

See You Next Time

1. So You Think You Can Dance - My favorite reality television show, dancers, choreographers, and judges. Filled with talent, entertainment, and quite a few laughs.

A. Read a book that features a dancer or a musical. Books that have been turned into musicals, a nonfiction book about the background of a musical, or a novel in which the characters are putting on a musical will all work. Required: If you choose a book that's been turned into a musical, name the musical. Otherwise, if the connection is not clear in the book's Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ description, explain how your book fits the task.
B. Read a book with the word "dance" or the name of one of these dances in the title or subtitle: Ballet, Ballroom, Break, Contemporary, Disco, Foxtrot, Hip Hop, Jazz, Jitterbug, Jive, Latin, Lindy, Quickstep, Salsa, Stomp, Swing, Tango, Tap, Waltz. The compound words and double words may be split up. Compound words will also be accepted, the word "dance" or the name of one of the dances just needs to be intact.
C. Read a book written by an author with the same initials of a past winner. The initials may be forward or backward. Past winners include: Nick Lazzarini (so you can use NL or LN), Benji Schwimmer, Sabra Johnson, Joshua Allen, Jeanine Mason, Russell Ferguson, Lauren Froderman, and Melanie Moore. You may also use the initials of the final 6 from season 9: Cole Horibe, Cyrus Spencer, Eliana Girard, Witney Carson, Dareian Kujawa, or Tiffany Maher.
D. Read a book with Feet on the cover.. any feet barefoot, socked, as long as feet are showing. Required: Include the cover in your post.

2. Falling Skies - The chaotic aftermath of an alien attack has left most of the world completely incapacitated. In the six months since the initial invasion, the few survivors have banded together outside major cities to begin the difficult task of fighting back.

A. Read a book with the genre "Science Fiction" on its Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ main book page
B. Read a book written by an author whose initials can be found in any order in the word ALIEN. If the author is listed by more than two names or has initials included in their name on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, all of their initials must be found in the word ALIEN.
C. Read a book with one of the following words in the title or subtitle: Falling, Skies, or Alien. Plural (aliens) or singular (sky) are ok, but no other variations are allowed.
D. Read a book that was first published in the last six months (so March 2012 to present).

Welcome Back.

3. Once Upon A Time - Everyone in Storybrooke, Maine is a fairytale character under a curse, and Emma - as the long lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming - is the one who can save them all. The story unfolds; interweaving scenes of the drama in the sleepy New England town and the inhabitants' past lives in the world of fairy tales. The timeless battle of good vs evil is ready to begin again. The show first aired in 2011 and seems to be hot in the new trend for modern fairytales.

A. Read a fairytale retelling. This page might help: Fairy Tale Retellings Required: If the connection is not clear in the book's Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ description, explain how your book fits the task.
B. Read a book with one of the following words in the title or subtitle: Apple, Snow, White, Witch, Evil, Step, Mother, Prince, Charming. Singular and plural will work, but no other variations allowed.
C. Keep up with the hot new trends by reading a book on the Most Read Books this Year list.
D. Read a book that takes place in one of these New England States: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Required: If the setting is not clear in the book's Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ description, explain how your book fits the task.

4. Vampire Diaries -The vampire brothers Damon and Stefan Salvatore, eternal adolescents, having been leading ‘normal lives, hiding their bloodthirsty condition, for centuries, moving on before their non-aging is noticed. They are back in the Virginia town where they became vampires. Stefan is noble, denying himself blood to avoid killing, and tries to control his evil brother Damon. Stefan falls in love with schoolgirl Elena, whose best friend is a witch, like her grandma. The show is filled with vampires, witches, werewolves, and more. First aired in 2009 and is based off of L.J. Smith’s series The Vampire Diaries.

A. Read a book with the genre "Paranormal Romance" on its Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ main page
B. Read a book in Diary or Journal form.
C. Read a book with a bat, wolf, or cat on the cover. Required: Include the cover in your post.
D. Read a book that has since been turned into a television series or a book that is based on a television series. Examples: Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dead Until Dark (True Blood), Déjà Dead (Bones), Doctor Who: The Stone Rose. (If it is a series of books, you may read any book in the series. It does not have to be the first book.) Required: Provide a link for verification of the television series when you post.

Nice to Meet You

5. Arrow - Oliver McQueen reconnects with those closest to him, he secretly creates the persona of Arrow - a vigilante to right the wrongs of his family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. By day, Oliver plays the role of a wealthy, carefree and careless philanderer he used to be - flanked by his devoted chauffeur/bodyguard, John Diggle - while carefully concealing the secret identity he turns to under cover of darkness.

A. Read a book with the genre "Fantasy" on its Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ main page.
B. Read a book with a any type of bow or arrow on the cover. This could be gift bow, the bow of a bow and arrow, a bow tie, a violin bow, an arrow for a bow and arrow, a street sign arrow, or a graphic arrow. Examples: Entwined by Heather Dixon (bow on back of dress) A Really Nice Prom Mess by Brian Sloan (bow tie), Zen Bow, Zen Arrow The Life and Teachings of Awa Kenzo, the Archery Master from "Zen in the Art of Archery" by John Stevens (bow and arrow bow), Anew (The Archers of Avalon, #1) by Chelsea Fine (arrow on letter A), Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn (arrow on one-way sign), Colonialism and Neocolonialism by Jean-Paul Sartre Required: Include the cover in your post and point out which object is the bow or arrow.
C. Read a graphic novel about any superhero.
D. Read a book that has a mainly green cover. Required: Include the cover in your post.

6. Elementary - A modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes, with the detective now living in New York City.

A. Read a book with the genre "Mystery" on its Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ main page.
B. Read a book set in London (the original setting of Sherlock Holmes) or a book set in New York City (the modern setting). Required: If the setting is not clear in the book's Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ description, explain how your book fits the task.
C. Since Sherlock is a private eye, read a book where only one eye can be seen on cover. Examples: Die For Me (Romantic Suspense #7) (Daniel Vartanian, #1) by Karen Rose Nothing To Fear (Romantic Suspense, #4) by Karen Rose The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein Tales of the City (Tales of the City, #1) by Armistead Maupin Required: Include the cover in your post.
D. Read a modern retelling of a classic. These lists might help: , Required: If the connection is not clear in the book's Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ description, explain how your book fits the task.

It will if it is a retelling of an older fairy tale. Do you know if it is a retelling or just a modern fairytale?

I can only have one planned for each task, if I have more than one planned I can't choose :) I get so confused and just start panicking.

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) I rolled a 1. I would like to use:

1C: Jeanine Mason = JM = James McBride (same initials)

I know it seems obvious, but I like to check with the more involved tasks before I post it as completed.
