Guidelines for Q&A Session:
1. Let’s remember that the author is giving us some of their valuable time, and treat them respectfully. No bashing, no slamming, no snarking. Any posts found to be disrespectful will be deleted.

2. Please remember that the best way to get questions answered is to ask them clearly, so the author understands exactly what it is you want to know.

3. Please ask your question in bold so that they stand out. All other chat should be kept in normal font.

4. If you have a question, check to make sure it hasn’t already been asked. We don’t want the author to have to repeat herself/himself and we don’t want you to feel like you’ve been ignored, either.

5. The winner of any books, bookmarks, or other items given away will be chosen by the author and any personal information should be exchanged in PMs. All decisions are final.

6. And the most important guideline of all - let’s have fun!

This thread will open up on Friday, September 7th for members to begin posting questions for Ms. Nelson.

Ms. Nelson offered a free copy of her new release The Contingency Plan to all participants. Send an email to [email protected].

Ms. Nelson, I am so glad you were able to join us on the DHASG! I've been a fan ever since I read Dmitry's Closet. I wanted to ask you how you came up with the idea of writing Dmitry's Closet and what you used as inspiration for Dmitry Medlov's character?

message 5: by Adis (new)

Adis (mylunar) | 19 comments Hi Ms. Nelson, I never read any your book but I've heard about you for few buddies here in GR and they mentioned how good you are. I've put Dimitry's Closet in my TBR list simply because your Russian hero (yeah, I seriously have a thing for Russian heroes).

My question : who is your favorite author and where do you go to find an inspiration?

Thank you.

message 6: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) I haven't had the chance to read any of Latrivia Nelson's book, but sorely tempted...
Here's my question, as I'm a russian hero vigrin... What makes a Russian hero special/unique/different? <\b>

♡Meme♡Reads love♡ | 203 comments HI Ms. Nelson, I have had the pleasure of speaking to you on the phone (Its the girl who made your fan video on youtube. ;) ) Girrrl you just don't understand how excited I was to hear from my favorite Author.... Ms. Nelson you are a talented writer I love your work so much I will take my time reading every word very slowly... :) Then devour it in the second reading.

Ok here's my question: I know you had to put it on hold for personal reasons a while back, but when Is Nikola's and Ivy's second story coming out? and will there be a lot of Dmitry in their book?

message 8: by Purplegirl (new)

Purplegirl (purplegirl549) | 7 comments Dmitry has, totally, ruined my enjoyment of any other mafia story:) I have been looking and reading but have not read anything that has come close to the Medlov series. Bravo to you for you creation. I hope that we see more of them soon! :)

Are there any mafia books out there that you have read and enjoyed?

message 9: by Nile Princess (last edited Sep 07, 2012 04:40PM) (new)

Nile Princess (nileprincess) | 12 comments Hi and thank you so much for taking the time to interact with us and answer our questions. Dmitry (and Anatoly and yes, even crazy Ivan) have become the benchmarks by which all other mob heroes are measured. And they are yet to be outdone! Thank you for never sacrificing the gore/mafia aspect for the romance, but for giving us a balanced blend of both. I do love my gore. :-) We love Dmitry! (and Anatoly and Ivan lol). The women are great too. Normally, heroines in stories annoy me but the women you write know when to be strong and when to step back and let their mafia men spill some blood!

Anyyyyway, onto my question, Have you ever considered writing an m/m (male/male) interracial mob romance? Russian Vory/Black?

Good mob fiction is so hard to find. Add in the m/m aspect and it's almost impossible. Every time I read one that's just 'good', I always compare it to your work and the fact that you would have done it so much better. Have you ever considered it?

Anino (anino) Good Evening Mrs. Nelson...
We appreciate you so much for taking the taking out of your busy schedule to engage your readers in this Q&A...

My question is this: In the near future, will you consider writing sequels for: "Finding Opa!", "The Grunt," "Ivy's Twisted Vine" or "The Ugly Girlfriend"?

Thanks for your time :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I'm excited to be here, too! Thank you for your time, Ms. Nelson!

Ms. Nelson is on her way. She's getting signed in.

Latrivia Nelson | 35 comments Male on male, Nile, is far from my scope. I try to write about things that I am familiar with and things I feel the men of that orgin will be comfortable with. So, maybe I will write about it later, but not now. I love that you love my books. Now you have planted a seed!!

You all are truly an inspriation. My inspiration came from black women needing the role that many main stream heroines have today. I wanted to give "us" that voice for once.

I am so excited. This story is going to be great, but I wouldn't release anything that you wouldn not want to read. It will be out for Thanksgiving and Brock D. will be our cover model. Join my facebook page and get to know him better. You won't be disappointed.

Nile Princess (nileprincess) | 12 comments If I remember correctly, this is the book where Nicola goes to the Medlovs for help with the murders, yes? So, should we expect the Medlovs to play a prominent role in this book? Is it more Ivy/Nicola Part II or Nicola/Medlov family?

Any woman who is a virgin is so precious. She had not given over to the virtues of being a woman yet. We all want you to make the righ choice. Royal was a black female virgin. Virgins in general are great to write about because of their lack of experience with the male species!!!

Latrivia Nelson | 35 comments Purplegirl549 wrote: " Which Medlov book was the hardest for you to write? I know Dmitry’s Royal Flush: Rise of the Queen was the hardest to read because of what Royal went through."

The hardrest character for me to write was Dmitry because I had to show him as a married man. That was really hard for a Alpha male who was rejected.

message 41: by Latrivia (new)

Latrivia Nelson | 35 comments Purplegirl549 wrote: " Which Medlov book was the hardest for you to write? I know Dmitry’s Royal Flush: Rise of the Queen was the hardest to read because of what Royal went through."

The hardest book was Saving Anya. I wanted the final book to be big but to show the relationships between the men. Now, I want to write a follow up that brings them all together. Family matters are really hard to write about. But I'm getting it. Work with me on it. I promise to get better!!!!!

message 42: by Nile Princess (new)

I get a hundred emails from Marines from my husband's old unit with the same issues. I wanted to make them feel loved and appreciated so I wrote a book about them and their struggles. They loved it, so I was happy. This book was truly about them. I wanted them to feel loved.

Poor Dmitry. I really felt for him during this book. You are correct that it hard to see a strong Alpha go through the rejection and stick it out.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Ms. Nelson, I often ask authors whose writing I've not yet had the pleasure of experiencing to recommend a place for me to start with their books. For those of us who haven't yet read your stories, what book would you recommend?
