though now that I'm on that kick, I WANT TO MEET ELIZABETH NORRIS. My ever lovely friend Jen got me Unraveling signed from NEIBA, but oh my goodness I want to fangirl at Norris so much.

She was at BEA last year.

Oh please, it wasn't that bad! Tegan & I sat in that line, I think we were only like 70 back or something crazy like that (we were an hour and a half early I think).. the line was probably only 300 deep by the time it started. NO BIG DEAL!!!

Yeaaah, I skipped that one. I went to the Harlequin one instead, and that one was a bit insane as well...

Jess have I mentioned I am forever in your debt for hanging with Tegs? 'Cause she was trying to drag me to that line and I was like 'Aw hell no'.

Pfft yeah was I with you for that Harlequin line Tasch? I know I went to the Paranormal Romance one, but I can't remember if I went to the YA one or not (I tend to think not as I didn't get anything signed from Soul Screamers)

I did the Harlequin and the Dark Days. I was one of the firsts for the Harlequin Teen Hour signing on the second day and then I rushed over and got in the Dark Days line and was like #68 or something.

Regardless I waited in lines for about 4 hours. But I met Jane Seymour (yay Dr. Quinn!) while waiting in the Dark Days line. Most people were psyched about Veronica Roth, but my fave was my signed copy of Unraveling by Liz Norris. :D

Oooh, I am all nervous and excited! I'm the type that when I'm by myself and there is a crowd I turn around and leave (I can handle them when I take my son or a friend with me). This is going to be a new experience! There are a few authors I'm really excited about.....I just have to suck it up!

Girl, stick with us and you are going to have a blast! Though BEA days ARE hectic, so don't worry if you separate from the group and don't see them again 'til the very end of the day. That's happened to me xD

Oh and remember to charge your phone... if not make sure you keep phone numbers written somewhere just in case your phone dies and you have to ask a nice stranger for their phone.... yes, this has happened to me too.

^That I wouldn't have thought of. These days no one has phone number memorized, so having them written down is brilliant.

oh yes back up necessary numbers, or bring your charger. there's a couple places you can find an outlet (tho not on the show floor). There's also those portable chargers that you can get (and I might).

I need them to announce more authors! Gretchen McNeil has a new book due out in sept...so maybe?

LOL. I carry a portable charger. It's like the size of a deck of cards. When my phone got low I plugged it in inside my bag and kept going. ;) I just charged it each night while I was sleeping and it was good to go. But the phone I have now has an insane battery. I only have to charge it every 36-48 hours.

I need to get me one of those.

I agree about the need for more authors, its making me a little bit crazy.

I need more author info to make my decision on whether I'm going or not. :( I'm going to a concert in July (That I forgot about) & just bought a new phone, so I really have no money for this if I'm trying to save for a cruise in a few years, but I'm still considering BEA because I loved it last year.

& Lexie - You are never in debt to me for hanging out with Tegan. I was lost & overwhelmed & glad to find people to hang out with :)

I did, and if I had had to pay for it I would say that I would have rather bought books. It was too windy to read on the deck, and there were screaming children in all the pools (even the adult only section)

I was also seasick any time I stopped moving. It was an unpleasant experience. I also went to Canada, so maybe thats my problem.

Best news ever (for me at least): Jeannie Lin will be at BEA!!! Confirmed in her newsletter and via twitter (when I squee'd at her). She's signing at the RWA booth! :D

Michelle Madow will be there. Not signing, but she'll be around so look out!

I feel like I should make a scrapbook of author promo postcards and stuff to carry around so if I run into one I can be like 'please sign?' since I can't possibly carry ALL the books I want signed...

Ha! Cruises are fun!! Nicole - Your problem was definitely that you went to Canada. You might not have sailed with the right cruiseline either. My only cruise was with Royal Caribbean... now I've been spoiled & I want to go back. I was on a 10 day cruise & didn't see the pool once because there were too many other things to do. I have a promising lead on a job that I have an interview for next week, so if I get that we'll see what my schedule looks like and if I'll be able to take off for BEA. I also have a review class that I might need to take that's June 5-8 or something like that, so it might be tough to get off for all that time in a row, and unfortunately, the review course would have to come first because it's for my financial planning certification that can help me get ahead in what I want to do with my life. :( I'm still keeping my options open though, and I have til May to buy tickets at the lower price. Anything can happen between now and then. Hell, I might win the lottery and not care about a job anymore... then I'll just buy BEA & be done with it. :)

The Javits Center is the WORST for cell phones. I went to Comic Con there also last year and every phone in our group would die in like 2 hours - just like at BEA. I don't know about everyone else, but our phones were roaming the entire time. We ended up using airplane mode unless we had to split up.

I just got a portable charger for Christmas really just for BEA :) Can't wait to use it!

That portable charger saved my life. I'm wondering how my new phone will do since it has an extended battery, but I'm not chancing running out of battery power.

Plus, even if I miraculously made it all day through BEA without charging, am I going to go back to my hotel and sit around for 2-3 waiting for my phone to recharge? Pfft.

OH MY SWEET GOODNESS. I missed on Ten's ARC last year (did buy the book!) I do NOT want to miss 3:59 this year! (of course I missed out because I was in line for John Scalzi so I can't be too mad, REDSHIRTS is AWESOME)

I skimmed and didn't see Maria V Snuder mentioned. She'll be there.

Michelle Leighton also tweeted today that she was invited to go.

Jen, do you think MVS will have ARCs of the next Healer book ready to give out? Or will it be too soon?

I highly doubt she'll have them. The book isn't due out until December of this year right? I don't know if she'll tell me but I'll try asking her.

December was when Scent of Magic was released, so I'm guessing that will be when the next comes out. I bet that will be what she signs at BEA. Because the next Study book isn't even written, right?

Nope. I think the next study book is due out Fall '14
