Rade Something that was interesting to read and can be read in few hours/in a day or two.

Lioness7 | 12 comments I just finished an older book called Jezebel by Gordon Kessler. It was pretty good. Kinda along the line of Cujo. I thought it had a better storyline though.

I also liked the books Hunter by James Byron Huggins and Watchers by Dean Koontz. Both of these books deal with genetic experiment monsters and are pretty good.

My favorite vampire read is the original Dracula by Bram Stoker.

I hope these might help you. I usually stick more to adventure with possible horror in it like The Ruins, Subterranean, or Relic. I don't read too much along the lines of serial murderers after people.

Michael Brookes (technohippy) The Thief of Always by Clive Barker is a great little story.

The Thief of Always

Failing that his Books of Blood are pretty good short stories.

I'll second that!

Gatorman | 8320 comments I would second Burke's books. Quick reads but always high quality. Also add The Summer I Died to the list.

I'll third Burke, second Grant, and throw Midnight Rain into the ring.

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments Firestarter was good. Not many King books can be considered "quick" reads. When he writes as Bachman his books tend to be shorter, and "The Long Walk" was one of the most disturbing books I've ever read, but most of the Bachman books are more thriller than horror.

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 3020 comments I'm actually going to read The Dulwich Horror of 1927 by David Hambling, its only 63 pages so it makes for a very short horror sure to be good.

Mariama | 2 comments Anno Dracula, by Kim Newman. Also Carrie, by Stephen King.

I finished The Little Stranger not to long ago. Good read.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments A quick read for me doesn't necessarily mean it's novella-sized, but so damn good you can't put the book down, even late into the night. The Little Stranger is a big book but it goes by so fast.
