Mansee | 2037 comments First of all -- its so embarrasing to start a folder after a month has gone by for 2013 but anyways...better late than never so here it goes!

Mansee | 2037 comments 1. How I Braved Anu Aunty & Co-Founded A Million Dollar Company- Varun Agarwal- 3.5

I borrowed the book from a friend and there are a lot of things I like about the book

- you can totally connect to it
- I am new to Bangalore so was nice to read about some local stuff
- The business idea was great and it was really engrossing to see how the idea took shape
- The author has given tips (def very helpful if somebody wants to start off with a venture)

Is it fiction or non?

message 4: by Mansee (last edited Feb 12, 2013 11:42PM) (new)

Mansee | 2037 comments It is the authors account so mostly biographical

The co exists- I saw it on FB (and my friend who knows the author says that Anu aunty exists too :P)

Mansee | 2037 comments 2. To Sir, With Love - E.R. Braithwaite- 3.5

I can easily give it a 3.5 but Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ does not allow that!

Short, crisp, old school - I have always had a fascination for these kind of subjects esp movies (like Monalisa Smile) where the teacher plays a catalyst role in inducing the students to think beyond.

This book fits the bill perfectly and addresses more issues than one...Def a good read :)

I had read this book years ago - possibly a decade and a half ago

message 11: by Mansee (new)

Mansee | 2037 comments Yes- its that sort of book which is apt for school kids/ college - I dont know how it escaped my notice

Mansee | 2037 comments 3. The Reluctant Fundamentalist - Mohsin Hamid- 3/5

I am confused about this one...It was definitely a good read...the way it was written (yeah some grammar checks would have been better) but what I liked is the content...but somewhere at the climax..i felt it was an abrupt end...dont know what the author wanted to say.. Felt cheated somehow..am still giving it a 3 as after a long time, I read a book in 3 days

its in my to-read list

message 14: by Mansee (new)

Mansee | 2037 comments Anbu suggested when we met at the last book meet - I had downloaded it on Kindle and finally got a chance to read it as I was travelling this month. Its a good plot but the climax left me wanting for more..(so in a way - it was well written :P)

Mansee | 2037 comments Cold Feet - Meenakshi Reddy Madhavan - 2/5

I picked up this book as I had liked the earlier book by the same author- but this was sort of disappointing

Timepass read- if u strictly don't have anything better to read.

Mansee | 2037 comments Those Pricey Thakur Girls - Anuja Chauhan - 3/5

Timepass read- better than her last one (Bittoria one) - I like the author for her refreshing, casual style of storytelling- good potential for Bollywood stories
