I'll be honest - I'm a little surprised about how well-received Duck Blood Soup has been. We've had beta testers read drafts and they tell us how much they like the book, but in the back of your mind you're always wondering if they're just being nice when in reality that does you no good.
And then the real reviews come in. Below are some excerpts from amazon.com
- A delightful surprise... if the quality of subsequent books holds up, it's going to have to go on my 'must buy' list... Good plotline, well written action and a reasonable conclusion though obviously more story to come with lots of reasons to want to go on to the next volume without resorting to a cliffhanger.
- Hard to put down. I just wanted to keep reading and find out what was going to happen next.
- The authors do such a good job of laying out the worlds of Eizenfeng and Ozeanchor and its people that you almost like you're watching a great movie rather than reading great book... it's not just another fantasy novel filled typical cliches and verbiage.
