I read everything that was assigned to me in school, and a lot that wasn't! I bet that's more common here on goodreads than the rest of the population! But poetry was never my thing, so I avoided it like the plague unless it was absolutely necessary. So I'll try my hand at a poetry collection this week.

Well I'm about 1/5 of the way through, and as expected not loving this. There have been a few great lines, but overall... meh.

Then again, it is in chronological order. And pretty much everything I've read about Yeats talks about three phases of his writing style. I'm just starting to break into the second phase, which is less long story-poems with Irish tales and more short life-related poems which appeal to me more.

We'll see.
