Wendy | 580 comments Whoot Whoot New blood! Welcome!!

Thomas, Someone gave me a great trick. When you add to your list, and want to keep all of your touchstones intact you do the following.
1. Go to your most updated List.
2. Click edit, highlight and copy entire Post,
3. Undo edit
4. Paste list onto your new thread
5. Click Edit in THAT thread, and add your new books
6. Magic!

message 2: by Wendy (new)

Wendy | 580 comments I do the above, so my new entries would appear on the beginning of the thread. I had tried to just edit the same list over and over and somehow it did not go to the top as updated. On the other hand, I may be wrong. Maybe one of the Moderators will chime in.

Wendy | 580 comments Thomas, how do you attach your reviews to your list? I like.

message 6: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (tom471) | 1969 comments Copy and paste the address line

message 7: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (tom471) | 1969 comments Wendy, I open 2 GR windows, one with the GR review and one with the comment box. In the review window, right click on the address line at the beginning, it should be highlighted in blue and open another box, with Copy/paste. Click on copy, go to comment box, right click on paste

message 8: by Wendy (new)

Wendy | 580 comments OH, I do the two window thing when I want to refer to specific books in discussions! Easy. Thanks.

message 9: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (tom471) | 1969 comments You are Welcome. I have noticed that some people who are not GR friends are following my reviews, so since you are a friend, you should be able to look at any of my reviews that I have not posted links to.

Miss M | 560 comments Great progress!
If you need candidates for Rhode Island, I'd recommend Bruce DaSilva's series about an investigative reporter--also has interesting bits about the downsizing of newspapers. I've enjoyed them, now waiting for the next release in September.
Rogue Island

It is and I keep at it sporadically.

message 32: by Wendy (new)

Wendy | 580 comments I once made the suggestion to the Mods to move up the Challenges to a higher position of the Group's Threads, I did not get a response. I truly believe if it was higher up the chain, we would get more responses and more participation. I am currently doing my Challenge by region i.e. "Asia", but am limited to mostly library books which limits my choices. It took me just over 2 years to complete the US Challenge and I am still slowly progressing with the World Challenge.

message 33: by Thomas (new)

Thomas (tom471) | 1969 comments If you buy an ereader, you would have a greater selection. I recommend basic kindle.

message 34: by Wendy (new)

Wendy | 580 comments I have a Kindle. I am working on some Ebooks that are based in different spots. The problem is I am finding more gems that are not within the challenge!!

Thomas (tom471) | 1969 comments Wendy, some thoughts:
Bookbub.com offers free/bargain ebooks by category.
My library has OverDrive, which I use to borrow ebooks.
Some of my ebooks are lendable and I will lend you some if you are interested.

message 37: by Wendy (new)

Wendy | 580 comments I too have Overdrive for both Hayward and Alameda Co. libraries. I also do Bookbub, Many Books and Book Cave. Hence the reason I have WAY too many e books lol. What I need to do is research what Overdrive has for me in regards to the challenge.
