Can anyone recommend some good sci fi or fantasy horror? I mean horrific, not something just because it has demons or weird aliens. Much appreciated.

Dean Koontz' Phantoms was a good sci-fi novel. My fiance also enjoyed The Taken but i haven't tried it just yet.

Have you read Neverwhere? It is a dark fantasy tale with horrific elements.

In the spirit of Easter and the holy trinity, I'm adding just three random recomendations

1. The Reapers Are the Angels, by Alden Bell.
Smart, literary zombie fiction. What
The Passage could have been with an editor, and what The Twelve certainly was not.

2. The Terror, Dan Simmons
Poetic, lyrical, and to be read in the cold of winter with the wind howling. I love love love this book.

3. Watseka, david st. clair. I read this when I was twelve years old or something, and the cover burned an image in my head as did the words. I have no idea if it's any good as an adult.

Mark, I really enjoyed your #1 pick. And I have GOT to pick up The Terror again and get into it some more. I set it aside for some group reads and was really starting to enjoy it.

I've seen what I think is a sequel to The Reapers Are The Angels, or it may even be a prequel, called 'Exit Kingdom" but it's only available in the UK, and has a YA looking cover.

Hmm, I've never heard of The Reapers Are the Angels. I'm off to check that out.
