Jared Any books with similar ideas to this or first book graceling?
Basically i loved the general idea of it, not to upset any die hard fans but personally i think the idea itself was wasted, with what the author seemed to do with the book (cough bash feminism into our brains with each line cough)don't get me wrong i did enjoy fire, just not all the aspects of it, anyway getting off topic and dont wanna rip a book because i did enjoy it, suggest anything you find similar to this book but without Mrs. Cashore touch on it.

Lol, that is COMPLETELY how I feel! Of course, I don't agree with her definition of feminism, but that's a different topic altogether.
@Tierney, Jared was looking for something "without Mrs. Cashore's touch on it"..."Bitterblue" doesn't exactly qualify, lol.

Delaney I would suggest, Holly Black, Cassandra Clare, and Cindy Williams Chima: any and all of her books but my favorite was the seven realms series!!! It was very, very good!

Aishaisnotonfire........Fours*crazed*Lover I really enjoyed it but things got a little bit too intense for my virginal eyes I mean I'm 15 not a crazed 50 shades of grey fan. It weirded me out when we read about the 'touching' but i really liked the concept of it but it sort. Of reminded me of any other fantasy book written in a different world so I wasn't awed when I found out about the graceling power thing

Seven realms series is quite similar (frankly i didn't like it that much) also try reading Seraphina by Rachel Hartman

Aishaisnotonfire........Fours*crazed*Lover Yeah I really want to read serephina apparently it's sooo good!

Delaney serephina is very good also

Samantha The Escapist +1 for the Cinda Williams Chima series, I would personally vote against Cassandra Clare's writing. Clare is fine but I think her writing is quite disorganized and at times a little half-baked.

It's also worth checking out Maria Snyder for setting and story but if you thought Graceling and Fire were feminist just because one character didn't want to be married (I know it's more than that, but as a diehard fan i needed to get a jab in :P) Prepare for lots of manshaming in Snyder's books as, according to her, almost all men rape.

If you try Snyder, read Poison Study. It's good, and then don't read the sequels, or do and expect them to suck.
