Hey. I was looking through the various challenges (a-z, variety, etc.) and couldn't decide on one to go with. I also have the issue that I feel like people can read too many books in such a short amount of time and not let them sink in, having no time to dwell on them enough. So I came up with this idea.
Basically you can read however many books you want, but each month has a certain topic. This way you're allowing yourself to dwell on that topic for a whole month. The books should complement each other.
You can chose whatever topic you wish. And the books can relate to that topic in whatever fashion you decide.
I kind of think of it as a way of exploring things that are on your mind - using various approaches. I might read a psychology book, then read a novel that is known to have a main character who suffers from some psychological condition I was reading about.
I'm not good at being brief and to the point but I think I've explained this enough.
I like the idea. Maybe read several authors works on the same topic, or written about the same time period (WW2 or whatever). Maybe I'll look over my list and see which books I can group together. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sounds cool. There's this other group I'm in that does something similar, only all the books have to be from the same Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ shelf and the shelf changes each month. Also, the shelf is assigned, you don't get to pick it. This sounds like a good tweak on that. I often get into a mode where I am into something, like Medieval England, or something. That would be fun. I think I may try this.
