Abigail | 3 comments I for one loved the Divergent series! Yes, Allegiant was very sad and it wasn't as good as the first, but it was still amazing. The way she writes is great and the concept of something actually beyond this whole world they've always known is so interesting. Yes, parts of it were a bit dull, but the character development throughout the series and the lesson taught at the end was magnificent.

readeraz (zoethereader) | 13 comments Dani- I really like that you have legit reasons for not exactly loving allegiant. Most of the reviews I have seen are fangirls complaining about JUST the ending. I'm pleased that you actually know what you are talking about!

Abigail- Beautifully said!

message 103: by Iris (new)

Iris (purplexlady) House of Night, Morganville Vampires, Evermore, Matched or Crossed or Reached or whatever the first book is :\

message 104: by Dani (new)

Dani (euriella) | 5 comments Zoe - haha thanks!

Abigail - see, I didn't see much character development in the third book. We didn't learn anything new about anyone (ESPECIALLY TRIS). And the ending seemed too contrived, which was even more obvious when Roth said she was planning to do it all along. It didn't feel like the plot had demanded it, it felt like Roth demanded it so much that instead of telling the great story she had on her hands, she blew it in favor of her ending. Which, you know it is 100% her choice and everything. I just had a problem with it.

message 105: by Abigail (new)

Abigail | 3 comments Ya, I get what you're saying

message 106: by readeraz (new)

readeraz (zoethereader) | 13 comments I agree, too dis-agree. I think Veronica ended up doing what she did because she wanted to make her series different from others. To show her fan base that life isn't as perfect as we imagined. We don't always get a "perfect" ending, and it is a brutal lesson to learn. I think tris developed so flipping much in this book, actually. She turned from a small girl from abnegation to a complete bad-ass heroine. In this book especially we see that she is more sure of herself and she learns to trust more.

message 112: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (thesecretbookshelf) | 5 comments Pretty much all trilogies seem to take a turn for the worse in the second book. It's always so sad!

°ä³ó±ô´Çé (chocolatetn) The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Oh. my. goodness. He should have left it at the first three books in the original trilogy.

I didn't get to Nevermore, but my friend told me how it ended and....wow. That sounds bad.

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

Fablehaven. I read it a long time ago, but I remember liking the beginning and hating the ending
Also the Divergent series. I LOVED the first book, the second book was okay, and the third was a letdown. I loved the ending though

message 121: by //Rustic (new)

//Rustic Fantasy\\ | 6 comments House of night by the p.c cast. I liked it in the beginning, but it got so boring and predictable that I couldn't finish it!

message 122: by Annika (new)

Annika Clark (annikakatherine) I didn't like Insurgent, but strangely liked Allegiant, so I think that counts. Also, I loved the beginning of The Selection Series, but it's faltering. I'll still, of course, read The One though. :)

message 128: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Trilogies do go downhill. Except The Darkest Powers Trilogy. But The Darkness Rising got better bcuz the first book was boring and second one kind of got better. Last one was the best

I know right!! SO EXCITED!

message 130: by KaytheDork (new)

KaytheDork | 5 comments I'm so ignorant sometimes with books xD . Like I will literally become so loyal to an author or series that I either brush off or become entirely blind to every flaw or mess up. But I'm working on stopping that.

Now I can't be certain, but I heard from a friend that -The Last Dragon Chronicles- lost everything at about the 5th or 6th book, and that the 7th was almost entirely irrelevant. Which is a major disappointment seeing as -The Fire Within- was so good. I myself only recently finished -The Fire Eternal- .

message 131: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) | 43 comments Pretty Little Liars & Everneath

PLL had way too many books. I think there are 16 now or something like that? And it was so tedious. How many As are there?! Like fifty? XD

Everneath started out strong and good. Then it went down the tubes to end in a failed ending that had me chucking the book across the room :P

message 132: by KaytheDork (new)

KaytheDork | 5 comments 16 isn't much considering some of the stuff I read! Guardians of Ga'Hoole has 15. And Warriors have 24 in the main series, plus the new prologue series, mangas, stand alone side novels and guides which all adds up to about 50 books! But it's a GREAT series so I don't care how much I need to collect xD. So far I've read 29 and own about 26 of that 29.

message 133: by A (new)

message 137: by Christina Howard (new)

Christina Howard sweep series..... I read 14 1/2 or the 15 books and couldn't read anymore. the last book skipped a large gap in time and was mainly about the girls daughter. and it was awful.

message 138: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hannahsmanyhobbies) I only just started disliking house of night as of this last book I think it was eleven. But I loved the sweep series!

message 139: by Caru (new)

Caru Shatter Me trilogy

Shatter Me was AMAZING!!
Unravel Me was eh. ok I guess.
Ignite Me was TERRIBLE!WORST BOOK EVER!
it was rushed, there was NO action really (only like 5 pages had action), ALL the characters were annoying, Adam went from being a sweet guy to being a jerk, Juliette was weak and even more annoying than before (if that's even possible) , Warner was annoying, gross, and I still think he's evil, Kenji was so awesome in the first two books but in Ignite Me he's an idiot.
And the ending..., ugh, it's just horrible.

Lia | 2 comments After scrolling through this thread, I've seen that a lot of you really loved House of night! which seriously surprised me. That book is so full of slut shaming and hypocrisy, I only got through the first few books because I promised my cousin Id read it. I mean, your opinion is your opinion, I was just really surprised to see such support for it.

message 148: by Lia (new)

message 149: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (aglionby) Evermore, Fallen, House of Night, Delirium, Divergent, Hunger Games.

message 150: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (NicoleLeeTV) | 7 comments Divergent I LOVED the first two and then Allegiant, the third book, was just terrible, in every way possible. LOL. House of Night series, I started, I think, three years ago and haven't read more than the first five books because it's going downhill so fast. But even if I start to dislike a series, I'm determined at some point or enough to finish it, is anyone else like that? lol.
