Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Alrighty guys! It's that time again :). Like we did with the Summer tasks, I want the Autumn tasks to kind of focus around fall and things related to it. This doesn't mean that challenges dealing with genres, page count, etc., will be dismissed. I want some of those in there, too!

Available Tasks:
5.1, 5.2, 5.3
10.1, 10.2, 10.3
15.1, 15.2, 15.3
20.1, 20.2, 20.3
25.1, 25.2, 25.3
35.3

Point Value Requirements:
The little notes after the number of books required is sort of how I think when I'm making tasks. When leaving your ideas, just let me know what point value you think your task should go under.

5, 10, 15: Has to require one or two books being read. These should be fairly easy tasks, with a few that are a little more challenging.
20, 25: Has to require two or three books to be read. These challenges will be a little more challenging than 5, 10, & 15.
35: Has to require 3 to 4 books being read. Harder than the previous ones, but ones that can be completed before the 50, 75 and 100 for sure.

Melanie I will put my thinking cap on Zakiya.

message 3: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks, Melanie! You always have great ideas :)

Melanie I was thinking of an idea where we pick a word/our name/ a month etc and have to read books based in a country for each letter.

e.g. If I was to pick APRIL, I could read a book based in Australia, Peru, Russia, Ireland and Lebanon.

It might be too hard though.

message 5: by Diana S (new)

Diana S Very Clever! I think that's a fun idea!

message 6: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I love that idea, Melanie! It is indeed very clever :). Trying to think of what we could do as far as words to choose from. Any ideas, ladies?

Melanie Thanks. If we go with a fall theme, maybe short words like FALL, LEAF.

Or we could do the Fall months which for us Southern Hemisphere readers is March, April May (short task numbers) and for the Northern Hemisphere readers is September, October, November (longer task numbers.)

This website might be helpful with the country lists.

This Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ groups might be helpful as they list books from each country.

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks for the links! I'm thinking we'll do the fall themed words, because the Northern Hemi months are more than 7 letters, which means more than 7 books. I will think on it some more, though. Definitely using this task :)

I am getting married in October so I have been going all fall for the theme.
LEAVES-fall leaves, leaving town, etc.
COLORS-orange, red, yellow, brown, green
FLOWERS-tiger lilies, roses, calla lilies
PICTURES-cake, church, family, kiss, dance, tears

School is in session so read a book that can be seen on a school reading list.
OR
Read a book that is on this list:
or for PDF:
I have read quite a few good books from this list.

I will keep thinking of others

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks Meghan!! And congrats on your engagement :)

message 11: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Congratulations on your engagement and all the best for your wedding day.

For some reason I thought that you (Meghan) and Zakiya were friends in real life. lol

message 12: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL honestly sometimes it seems like we could be! What with the love of reading and all. Plus we're in a few groups together, so I always run into her somehow :)

message 13: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I think it was how close you seem that I thought that.

message 14: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I can understand that :)

message 15: by Jojobean (new)

Jojobean ill think of a few things.

message 16: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Thanks!

I will be posting the tasks up sometime Saturday afternoon.

message 17: by Kristin (new)

Kristin It may be too late but you could do something similar to what you did with the princesses.. except since it'll be halloween you could use monsters... You know what I'm talking about?

Sorry I haven't been on in a while.. school and my computer has been broken... I'm ready to get started reading again!

message 18: by Zakiya (last edited Aug 31, 2013 10:06PM) (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) I completely understand, Kristin! I haven't been on a lot either, because of school.

I do know what you're talking about :). I wouldn't be able to do it for a 50 task, but I have some 20 pt spots left open. I will put it down for one of those.

message 19: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I love all the tasks this time, must get myself off the computer more so I can read more. lol

message 20: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) LOL thanks Melanie :). I need to get my priorities straight so I can read more haha. good luck!

message 21: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Thanks Zakiya, with study now I just don't have as much time to read so I need to get my priorities right too. lol

message 22: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Lol glad to know someone else is kind of struggling too :)

message 23: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Oh yes, combine studying by distant education with 2 kids and a husband and its always a struggle. lol

message 24: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) haha that just sounds like one! :)

message 25: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I did get my priorities right last night and read instead of watched TV.

Masterchef Australia has finished so instead of watching the show that replaced it, I got reading.

message 26: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) woohoo! :) I actually toggled brtween two books a lot yesterday. even though I needed to iron lol.

message 27: by Melanie (new)

Melanie LOL In my house the ironing can always wait.

message 28: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) That's the way it is with me. I don't take care of it until the clothes are stacked too high or I need to listen to an audiobook. Then its the perfect chore lol.

message 29: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I only iron when clothes need it (uniforms or going out clothes.)

All others get hung up straight away and thankfully the creases fall out. lol

message 30: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) My mom makes us iron everything. She even irons her sweatpants... smh lol. I don't go that far, though. If it's jeans, t-shirts, regular shirts, some skirts. Those are the only things I iron. Everything else either isn't important enough to me or it has the pleasure of hanging up immediately (like if I hang it up to dry, I'm not about to iron when the wrinkles probably aren't bad).

message 31: by Melanie (new)

Melanie I remember my mum telling me when she married my dad, he complained as his mum used to iron his underpants and my mum refused to. lol

message 32: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Wow, that's to the extreme haha. But I don't really blame your mom for saying no.

message 33: by Melanie (new)

Melanie LOL I know. Nan used to iron everything including sheets, bath towels, tea towels. lol

I have way too much other things to do than to iron that much.

message 34: by Zakiya (new)

Zakiya LadyWings (zladywings) Very true!
