Uday Kanth Since Dan Brown is a master at bringing a city to our fingertips through his detailed descriptions and thorough research, which place or culture would you like to see next? I was thinking somewhere in Asia this time. Probably Japan or China or even India!

John Cornelius How bout Russia?

Lakshmi I would like to have a Dan Brown book set in India. Japan is a good idea too.:-)

Patricia I hope he stays in Europe, the art and the religious symbolism from there is much more interesting to me.
It's what I know and grew up learning about, so part of what makes his books interesting to me is the new ideas he has about these things and the way he weaves a different story around/about them.

Uday Kanth Russia seems to be good bet...he can explore a good controversy there I suppose!

Uday Kanth I know only France and Italy when it comes to art. would Greece be an interesting place?

John Cornelius Greece would be cool. Could implement more mythology, maybe Homer's Illiad/Odyssey. Great deal of art in Greece.

Anirudh Nair India is a place where a lot mysteries can be taken into account. And Dan Brown will do a great job in expressing and explaining it.

Rachel I think Greece, Russia or India would be great settings. So much could be done with the cultures in those countries

Robert Wright I'd say somewhere international that he hasn't touched on yet. Asia, Greece, India, Russia---all great ideas. Also somewhere in the Middle East, Egypt, or Africa.

Oddly, the first one the popped into my mind is in the US: if he could tie in to the Georgia Guidestones ( The Georgia Guidestones: America's Most Mysterious Monument) that could be a fun one.

John Cornelius Egypt, Africa, Middle East area would be cool. Maybe there can be a search for the Garden of Eden? Maybe?

Felix Tibet or Antarctica...

message 13: by Ren (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ren Greece

Felix Middle Earth.....

Chris Lytle My vote would be in Eastern Europe - perhaps Budapest or Prague. Lots of hisory, art and architecture in these locales to spin a good Langdon yarn.

Rachel Africa would be cool, especially if he could tie in something to do with pandora's box which would then include Greece as well

Gabriela The Bermuda triangle

Gerardo Ramirez in mexico cabrones!

Som Discworld

MaryJane Rings I would like to see a book based on the ancient history and intrigue of Mesopotamia and the history of Babylon. It was a city with ideas much superior to the other civilizations of the time. Also the mysteries of the dynasties of China and Marco Polo. There was much art and mystery that surrounded both of these places.

Sandy I'll prefer Russia or the erstwhile Soviet bloc countries.

Gloria Herrera for As You Wish Reviews I agree! How about finding the Garden of Eden? or doing something with the Pyramids? Finding the real Eye of Horus?

The search for the garden of Eden. What a wonderful story could be woven. anywhere in ancient Mesopotamia would be awesome.

Kristen Elise I only hope that the setting of his next book is critical to the story. I felt that A&D, DVC and TLS were all set in their respective locations out of necessity, but Inferno not so much. I felt that Florence was critical, but Venice and Istanbul were forced into the story. My opinion of this is expressed here with no mincing of words LOL. Spoilers.

Forget Dan Brown...YOU should write this book! It sounds like a winner!

Janice In the trash.

Licha Gloria wrote: "I agree! How about finding the Garden of Eden? or doing something with the Pyramids? Finding the real Eye of Horus?"

I love this idea of the Garden of Eden.

Mexico was also mentioned and that could be an interesting idea with the Aztec civilization.

Geoffrey How about in Hell and in it, he could put all the false Christains currently running about with a change of names, naturally. He could structure it according to Dante`s 7 circles or any other of the medieval theologians` vision of Inferno.

As for Licha`s suggestion, I reside in Mexico and I would be upset if Dan Brown equally screwed up Aztec history. He doesn`t get the past down pat.

Licha Geoffrey wrote: "How about in Hell and in it, he could put all the false Christains currently running about with a change of names, naturally. He could structure it according to Dante`s 7 circles or any other of th..."

Lol. I would be upset too, but maybe he could try and get it accurate for his next book. It would be nice to see him do something else beside Europe.

Janice Using the Garden of Eden as the central premise of the story would truly make it fiction as it would have been summarily destroyed in the great flood. However, it would be consistent with Dan Brown's bastardizing of the truth.

Tina Weaver DAN BROWN if you ever read this, I would like you to go back to writing a Thriller. I have read all your books. I rate them in this order Deception Point, Digital Fortress, Di Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and the last ones were so bad I don't care which comes first.
Every time I have suggested someone to read Deception Point, they have come back and said "This was a fantastic book."
I think DD should be made into a movie but NOT DIRECTED by Ron Howard.

Geoffrey Ron Howard should use better cinematographers. The Dan Brown he did had highly deficient visuals.

Riobhcah Ancient Egypt!

Kristen Elise The Vesuvius Isotope is very Dan Brown-like (or so I'm told) and set in Italy and Egypt...a modern-day thriller asking ancient questions. Cleopatra plays a central role.

The Vesuvius Isotope

Jen Far away from any place, any book, any group, any idea, in fact, any thing that actually exists as he cannot help but twist the truth, historical and/or literal facts. Can't he find his own plot or story instead of messing around with those of people/authors far superior to him.

Subramanian India or Pakistan. That'll make him feel as if he has come around the globe.

Janice Kudos, Jen. He is a charlatan and purposely confounding the truth.

bipasha India! its such a major historical and religious and symbolic place-it will give him all the needed monuments as well as a cool setting!

bipasha John wrote: "Egypt, Africa, Middle East area would be cool. Maybe there can be a search for the Garden of Eden? Maybe?"

nice idea...

Tanvi Nagwekar India or Asia definitely.he has revolved to much around europe.

message 41: by Jack (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jack Fischer I vote for Egypt or ... wait for it ... North Korea. Now that would be interesting.

Nichola St. Anthony Peru. Maybe he could write about the secrets of the Incas.

Eva John wrote: "Egypt, Africa, Middle East area would be cool. Maybe there can be a search for the Garden of Eden? Maybe?"

Langdon in a pyramid... yes please

Maithili Egypt sounds awsome but I'd like Langdon in India too..

Joseph Racconti How about Africa? Nobody ever writes about Africa. Italy, France, Masons, Illuminati...it's all been beaten to death. I'm over it. Lets do something BRAND NEW.

Kimber I'd love to see an Eastern European location. Vienna, Austria. Prague, Czech Republic or various places in Russia.

Joseph Racconti Well you may be in luck. Dan Brown recently vacationed in Prague.

message 48: by Marc (new) - rated it 5 stars

Marc Estes I agree with the Mexico Idea. Lots of cool symbols in the Aztec ruins I'm sure he could make use of.

Emily Williamson If we are keeping to the Religious theme, Haiti would be a good choice!

Kimber Joseph wrote: "Well you may be in luck. Dan Brown recently vacationed in Prague."
