Danielle Evans | 1743 comments Hi, all! Since the group is growing, I think it's time I add another moderator to help out. On top of having a full time job and quite a few other things on my plate, I anticipate having even less time in the very near future (due to some personal stuff that's going on). If anyone is interested in helping out, please let me know! I'm hoping to add someone who is already active in the group and who has a good understanding of how Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ works. I can certainly assist, and I don't plan on dropping off the face of the earth - I just could use an extra person to help with the Book Review Pool and to answer questions any members may have.

There have been talks about adding a separate review pool for children's/YA books only, so we could probably swing this with another moderator (or two).

Thank you! :-)

Pam | 134 comments Exactly what would I need to do, how often, and about how much time daily would it take? Pam Blevins

Uma (witcheyez) | 307 comments I'm sure it's a lot for one person to handle. If you need any help, I'll be more than happy to assist :-)

Danielle Evans | 1743 comments Thanks for considering it, Pam, and thanks for offering to help, Uma! :)

Basically, it would entail checking to make sure people are reviewing books out of the pool. As long as they sign up properly, their books need to be added to the new pool (with the appropriate info filled out). Any questions or issues that members have would need to be addressed. It may only be an hour a day, if that, depending on how busy things are. Also, messaging authors when their books are picked - things like that - just assisting and getting the review pool to keep moving forward.

I still plan on doing these things, but I know I'm going to have less time in the coming month or so, and I don't want to hold people up or stall things. So to get an extra person (or two) to jump in and assist would be fantastic.

Is it all right if I add you a moderator then, Uma?

Pam, let me know if this is something you feel comfortable doing. If not, that's okay too. I appreciate all you do for this group as is! :)

Uma (witcheyez) | 307 comments Sure, Danielle. I'll be more than happy to help out. Just let me know how to go about it :-)

Awesome, Uma! Thank you! You are now a moderator, and as a result, you now possess many superpowers... Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit! LOL.

It's fairly simple. If someone signs up their book to be included in the pool, just check to make sure they reviewed a book that was actually in the pool. Then you edit the current pool, and add all their info in. Are you familiar with how to add links to books?

If someone requests a book, just send a message to the author with the info for the request. People may ask you questions about how it all works. If you have any issues at all or need help with anything (especially at first when you're just getting the hang of it), let me know. I should still have enough time within the next week or so to remain active - I'm just concerned that in the month of August, I will be too overwhelmed to check in every day.

Thank you again! :-)

Danielle Evans | 1743 comments I am bumping this thread because Uma and I are looking to add another moderator or two! Having more moderators will help the group become more active, and thus, people will get reviews for their books quicker (the ultimate goal).

I have so much going on right now that I'm not able to invest as much time as I would like into the group, and I don't want to let you guys down! So if anyone is interested in becoming a moderator, please let me know! It would be preferred if you're already active in the group and have a good understanding of how GR works. I still plan on helping out, but I may not be able to check in as much in the near future.

Thanks for your consideration!! :-)

Uma (witcheyez) | 307 comments Echoing what Danielle said, we really need someone who understands how the Book Review Pools work as well. If you don't, and still want to help out, no worries. WE CAN TEACH YOU!

The group is growing. Plus, we will be starting something new soon. We need all the help we can get.

Oh, and no resumes needed :-)

What are you waiting for? (in the singing voice of Ellie Goulding)

Hi Racheal,

Yes, authors can be moderators. In fact, all of us are. Well the active ones anyway. Right now four of us are active so I'll leave it up to Danielle to make the determination of whether we need any more mods (this is Danielle's group).

Thanks for the inquiry!

Sacha
