Robyn An amusing way to read more .... now, where do I find an author with a last name starting with U, eh?

message 2: by Sue (new)

Sue | 1338 comments Well you could ................. look at the other lists, go to Fantastic Fiction or walk round the library and see what there is on the shelves for a particular letter. As for U, I can recommend Jane Urquhart. Enjoy the challenge. I have certainly read things I wouldn't otherwise have done.

Robyn Thanks, Sue! I have been going through my pile of unread books and found a U and Z (and others too, of course!).

Sue | 1338 comments It's the X you have to worry about!

Sue | 1338 comments I am a bit confused by Chinese names but the book everyone loves is Xinran's Sky Burial: An Epic Love Story Of Tibet.

Robyn There's always this sad moment when you've completed two books and realise their letters have already been claimed!

I feel your pain :) It's always good when you start a new list and every one counts!

Robyn Finally I read something by an author who's name did NOT start with W!

message 14: by Robyn (new)

Robyn Awesome, two more! I feel that I might need to start reading strategically soon...

Not sure when you read it but think you should be doubly congratulated on an author called Ee.

message 16: by Robyn (new)

Robyn I was rather proud of myself for that! One of my last books of 2013. (I actually kept checking to make sure that really was her name. I'm not sure of its origins!)

Possibly related to the Ee Aws of 100 Acre Wood?

message 18: by Robyn (new)

Robyn LOLs! I was finally compelled to look it up and it seems that it is the less common romanization of either the Chinese name Ye/Yee or Yu. Really wouldn't have guessed that.

Swot lol.

Robyn Woo! Another to add to my alphabet -- Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie.

message 21: by Robyn (new)

Robyn I have been neglecting this! Filled in a few more letters ... I think it's time for some strategic reading!

message 22: by Robyn (new)

Robyn Months of reading and I only added one letter. Perhaps I shall let this direct my reading for the last two months of the year?
