Along the lines of The Sweet, I've been listening to the 4-CD anthology of Slade - The Slade Box. Their 70's heyday was before my time, but I still don't understand why Slade couldn't ever really crack the US market.

Oh yeah, that's right - at times our collective music taste sucks.

In Australia they weren't particularly big either. I think that was because of marketing. Their songs mostly appeared on heavy metal compilations.

The Cars were a much underrated group. Sure, they weren't a super-group like Queen or ACDC, but they did create some catchy tunes.
