Numbered titles challenge has to do with "counting your titles". This is an on going challenge that will go until June 2014. For each month, starting with January, you read a single book.
January will be one worded title.
February is a two word title.
March is a three word title and goes all the way to June, being a six worded title.

Since it is hard to plan 6 months in advanced, its okay if your books change, just repost your books!

This challenge is a light-read challenge, and hope you join in!

Rules
Must follow the guidelines, and if you have a question, feel free to ask.
Must post books here.
Read on, and Enjoy!

Duration:
January to end of June 2014

You may exclude the word "the" or "a" at the beginning of a title if you have trouble finding a book!

Allison I didn't like it. Not to take anything away from his story but I felt it was very rushed. Especially the end, it ended at the very bottom of the page and I went to turn the page and.... nothing! It just... ended. I thought I was missing pages! Out of all the Holocaust/WWII stories out there, why was this one so astounding? I felt like it was only popular because of its being on Oprah's book list. But everyone else seems to LOVE it so what do I know? I was told by another goodreads member that I'm too harsh on books! :P

message 22: by amber (new)

amber (thelittlematchgirl) | 243 comments Night was a big deal long before being an Oprah book, so I don't think that's it.

I can relate to being told you're too harsh on books though. I just had someone suggest I stay out of a book discussion if I didn't like the book.

message 23: by Petra (new)

Petra I didn't like it much either, Allie. It's been awhile since I've read it but I remember thinking that parts of it didn't seem right. Not that its a situation that I can compare with anything in my life. I've read a few WWII Holocaust memoir/memory books and they've all been horrific. This one didn't quite ring true in the same way that the others did.
Perhaps it was just the writing style that didn't resonate with me.

Amber, what???!!! Only people who like a book should discuss it??!! That would make for a boring discussion.

Finally! I'm not alone lol. I definitely think it was the writing style for me... at only 115 pages or so, it just felt so rushed.

Omg! How rude! I can't believe someone would tell you that, like they own the discussion on something!!

I've never really understood why people get so upset about other people not liking a book. That might be because most of my favorite books have a lot of one star ratings, so I don't give the ratings much thought when I'm looking at a book. At least not from random people.
