This is a team challenge that will require two books a week. The object of the game is to roll the dice (there will be a link to the website to roll) and move along the board. The first team to pass the finish line wins the game.

Captains will roll the dice by clicking on Sundays and Thursdays once their team has completed their reads. Please note captains when rolling you will have to change it to one die. You may not advance until all of the team's reviews are in. If a player or team falls behind the team has to wait until the next Sunday or Thursday to roll. That being said it's very important to finish and review your book on time.

How to pick a book:
If you land on single digit spot for example lets say you land on spot 5 then you have to read a book that's #5 in a series. For double digit numbers, for example you land on spot 48 you can read either a #4 or a #8 in a series. Stand alone books will count as a #1 or a #0. I don't expect anyone to read a series out of order and for people that don't really read series books that still want to play there will be an alternate option.The alternate option this round will be done a little different than last time. There will be an alternate option for each spot.

Sign ups are open now through February 4th. Teams will be formed on February 5th and the game will begin on Sunday the 9th.

There will be a separate thread for captains to post their place on the board after rolling and a separate thread for captains to post a link to the teams completed reviews.

This round teams will have a chance to earn 1 Free Pass to roll. To earn your free pass once your team has completed their reads a day before the next roll. Once your team has done this you will have 1 free pass. The free pass will allow a team to roll if they are missing one review before the cutoff.
Re-reads are allowed
Page limit is 150
When using an anthology you may use any of the numbers in the book except for the .5 since this means 1/2. But you must review each story in the anthology.
Series # will be based on how GR has it listed.

The alternates:
Each number corresponds with the spot on the board.
For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%
For locations: As long as the book takes part at all in the given location .
For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.
For Titles: Only the first word of the title. A, An, And, and The do not count.
So if the letter is B: The Best Day would be ok. Dear Betty would not be ok.

how long will the game last? how is the winner determined? does the captain roll for the whole team? approximately how many people on a team?

The game last time took just under 2 months. Since it's a board movement game you can't have an exact date.
To win the first team to roll past the last spot and complete their reads wins. The captain rolls for the team and then everyone has to read a dries corresponding with their spot on the board or the alternate.
Teams depend on sign up numbers but I do like to keep it 5 or under if possible.

For titles series titles won't count this time as an alternate?

Okay - just wanted to be sure since there are a few new rules this time around.

If you're reading a book before the dice are rolled and the book fits perfectly with wherever it lands can you use that book or do you have to start the book after?

Books must be started after your team rolls.

So basically we need to read a book for the Sunday roll, finish it before Thursday, then read the Thursday roll before Sunday? I'm slightly confused.

That's right! Last round was really fun and the game is much easier to play than describe lol.

so you should close the book and start it when the challenge starts and reread what you already read. Does thaqt work?

Another question: Do we either do the standalones OR the series, or can we mix them both together?

There's no limit on reading standalones vs series as long as your book fits the given spot or the alternate.

Does Stinger count as #3 in a series? It's a third published book and part of series but ŷ������ doesn't say that, only that's a part of the series

No it doesn't but I have plenty of other books lined up so it's no problem :)

If anyone is still missing a teammate please let me know. Also I haven't seen much chatter about this so thought I'd mention it. Teams can earn a free pass to roll once your team has finished their reviews a day early. The free pass will let you roll once if you have missing reviews.

Quick question:

With the publication date, is it the original date when the title was first published, or can you use the publication date that the edition you are reading was published?

As long as the edition states the right year for the alternate it's ok.

If you read a series book in the double digits, can you use either digit? Example: Cowboy Casanova Rough Riders #12

That would work for a 12, not a 1 or 2.

Can we count books read in this challenge towards other challenges, for example the You Have the Right to Remain Silent 2014 Challenge?

Jenne are we really allowed to read double digit books like in Rough Riders and Psy~Changeling Series? I wanted to check for clarification.

If you're reading say 13 in the rough riders it would only work for spot 13.
