Weigh in folks. Is the Doc stealing those logs? Is it enough that the company may not return for them?

My sympathy is with the doctor and his troubled marital relationship. BUT he IS stealing logs, or trying to. No doubt about that.
However, if White and McNally returned to pick up the pieces, he could come clean. 'I thought you'd never come back. How much do I owe you?' A response Nick might have approved of. (If company never shows up, he'd be looking at rotting wood. What a waste!)
Have a nice weekend, everybody.
well, they were floating free down the river, so are they stolen logs or free??
apparently the doc thought they were free. dick thought they were stolen. at the time the story was written racism was running high in this country. so was the doc pissed off because he wasn't getting a free log, or was he pissed off because "a half-breed" told doc what to do,and made him look bad?
what do you all think????
