Did you enjoy it? I am glad I read it as it is a classic. I knew the basic story line but did not realize that Hester Prynne is the heroine of the story -- quite possibly the first single mother heroine in literature. But it was not an easy read by any means.
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book? Yes. The color scarlet has been used to describe an immoral woman since biblical times.
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? Oddly, no. Except The Goldfinch. Which I guess qualifies.

Did you enjoy it? Absolutley. This was a great book. The story line was developed very well and the characters were believable.
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book? The color was at center stage in this book.
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? Roses Are Red by James Patterson; Violets Are Blue by James Patterson; Black Ice by Michael Connelly; The Black Box by Michael Connelly; Black Out by Lisa Unger; Blue Religion by Michael Connelly

Did you enjoy it? I gave it 4 stars. But halfway through the story shifts from interesting historical mystery to Lifetime movie.
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book?Soft of. A peach tree is a small part of the mystery. But it could have been more prominent given the title of the book.
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? only the The Picture of Dorian Gray so far!

Did you enjoy it? Oh yes, I absolutely loved it. It's a new favourite - a six star book for me. I honestly didn't expect to love this book as much as I did.
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book? Symbolically, yes. From the wonderful google: "The color purple represents all the good things in the world that God creates for men and women to enjoy. At the beginning of the book, you could say that Celie has no sense of the color purple. She has such a horrible life, she's not stopping to smell the roses, she's just surviving."
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? The Scarlet Letter, The Golden Compass, The Amber Spyglass, A Study in Scarlet ... plus side read White Teeth & planned other-challenge books A Clockwork Orange & Red Queen. Hmm ... seems I like the colour books!

Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? I started with A Clockwork Orange, but I had to stop, because I couldn't understand anything, so No :)

The White Stag
Did you enjoy it?
Yes :)
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book?
Ehh, debatable, as you could say "The white stag" was very important and symbolic in the book, not necessarily the colour white by itself.
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title?
Red Queen

Did you enjoy it? Very much.
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book? The blackbirds were, but not the color itself, other than the symbolic connections to fear and death.
Are there other books in your challenge with a color in the title? Scarlet, Agnes Grey, and Ruby Red

The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America

Very much. A non-fiction book that reads like fiction.

It was the colour of the buildings in the fair, and part of what made the fair so amazing, so pretty important.

I absolutely fell in love with it! It's become my new favourite book!
Was the color from the title an "important" part of the book?
Yes! It was Celie's favourite colour, it was a colour that represented the beauty, hope, and good in the world and it was mentioned by Shug in what has become the most well known quote from both the book and the movie: 'I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it'.
