In the UK, The Anonymous Venetian, by Donna Leon, is NOT available on kindle. Also, That Yew Tree's Shade by Cyril Hare is on kindle, but under the alternative title, Death Walks the Woods.
Looks great, Susan, thank you for pulling this list together!
Some editions of The Anonymous Venetian are published as Dressed for Death - it may be worth checking both titles to find the cheapest copies.

Thank you, Susan, this will make tracking down Brunetti mysteries easier- seems several of the earliest have alternate titles.
Sandy wrote: "Similar problem with Maigret: The Sailor's Rendezvous is AKA The Grand Banks Café in US."
There are also editions published under this title in the UK. Every Maigret book seems to have about 4 different titles!

We are coming to the end of a couple of series soon. I have updated the buddy read list and was wondering whether anyone has any ideas of a good Christmas buddy read?

The list above only goes through the past May/June, or am I missing something? Sorry, probably me, I haven’t finished coffee yet.

I know it’s been nominated, but the holidays are often busy, how about a short story collection you can dip in and out of, time permitting? Like Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries

Stories are a good possibility, Susan. Other collections which are Christmas based are:
The Mistletoe Murder And Other Stories
or
Christmas is Murder: A Chilling Short Story Collection
Might be nice to have something a bit different?

I'd love to do Envious Casca as I missed it as part of the Heyer read.
Or The Haunting Season: Ghostly Tales for Long Winter Nights
Frances, we'd have to see when we did Envious Casca - the discussion thread is still open, so depends how long ago we read it I think.

There are some good authors in that collection: Edmund Crispin, Sayers and Allingham.
Any other suggestions? There is no rush, so we can see what others think and we can, of course, do more than one book.

Christmas is Murder doesn't seem to be available on kindle in the US. The others are, but full price. Silent Nights is available on Kindle Unlimited if one has that service.

I'd be interested in this one.

My library has the PD James, not the other, but both sound good!

Availability is always an issue, unless a book has been out for years, it seems!

Well then, if we can go outside our usual times,I say let’s include the PD James and McDermid books also, they sound good - as always, if we can get them, great, if not, there’s older Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries to fall back on. I’d also include Jane and the Twelve Days of Christmas

Stories don't tend to get a lot of people joining in, historically, so I would only suggest one collection.
Jane and the 12 days of Christmas is number 12 in a series - they are on kindle in the UK but are expensive. However, if anybody wants to read a buddy ever, then only two people are needed and we are happy to set up threads.

Actually, only books 5-15 are on kindle in the UK, not sure why. It's infuriating when you can only get part of a series on kindle, isn't it?
Maybe we should stick with that then? It is popular, we can all get it and is perfect for a Dec/Jan buddy read. Thank you, Susan, for your suggestion.
An updated list. I have realised there are some more of the Ocean mysteries, but not all are back in print yet. I think we have finished the Flavia books after our next read though.
