Third Read-a-Thon - Intro Post

I'll join too! I don't know how many books I'll succeed to finish (probably 1-2, I don't think I'll succeed to increase my reading time), but I'm looking forward to the games, they are interesting :)
I'm hoping I can get at least 2 books done that week. I know my plan could use the progress!

Jasmine > I considered Thanksgiving break since there is so much free time for me. But I was afraid many people would be busy with family engagements.
I hope you're still able to participate some!

i can read any books,right??
i am also joining. i am not giving the number of books i am going to read. i would read as much as possible.
Yes, Manju, you can read any books you want. I think most will use it to catch up on their reading challenge but if you're already done or want to do side reads that is totally up to you.

Lisa, easy to hit multiple if you read children books or novellas - although I still would not go above five...I read at least five around 100 pages in the last month, and my current one is 110 :)
Lisa, I find having an e-book (on my phone/Kindle app), audiobook, and physical book going at the same time means that no matter where I am or what I am doing I always have a book and I can always read.
Also, when you're doing a read-a-thon, it's good to have some shorter/easier books in the mix to help you stay motivated.

I'm not going to set a number of books, because I want to finish the challenge during this week and it's going to depend on what I can read until the 30th! There are a few books I want to read before next year's challenge, so the quicker I finish this one, the better...
Lisa, don't forget that everybody doesn't read at the same speed! (usually there are the medium speed and the fast speed which is twice the medium!). Holidays help of course, as easier reads (like children or YA books). Anyway 10-16 books/week are impressive from my point of view :)

I didn't realize children's books were included (don't know why, they're books,).
I'm new to the read-a-thons, and to this group so please bare with me.
I really do envy those fast readers though! I normally read 309+ page ebooks so it takes me a few days. I'm pretty excited to be in on this one!
Lisa, that's no problem! And don't feel obligated to read 10-15 books. It isn't about how much you can read or how quickly you can read, it's just about reading and having fun. So do whatever you're comfortable with and have lots of fun!

Its going to be tricky because i work during the day and have a million of others activities, but i will try read 5 books (my aim is finish at least 3 books and read-but-maybe-not-finish 2 others books).

We’re well into the eleventh month of our twelve month challenge and, wow, look at what we’ve accomplished already! We hope you’ve all been able to read some great books, make some new friends, pick up some new reading recommendations, explore genres you never have, and really challenge yourself! We also hope you’ll be joining us next year for the 2016 challenge. With all that we’ve accomplished for the year in mind, let’s make this the best read-a-thon we’ve had and really end the year on a high note! Come read! Come participate! Come have a whole lot of bookish fun!
How does this work?
If you’re new to read-a-thons, don't worry! They're very simple. You make a commitment to read as much as you can for a set period of time and then you do it. There are often games, challenges, and prizes associated with the event but, for the most part, it's about reading and camaraderie.
For our read-a-thon, we'll be committing to read as much as we can for one week. There will be games, progress posts, discussions for participants to join in on as well as plenty of encouragement along the way. If you're still lagging behind on your 2015 Reading Challenge and you want to make that final push, this is the perfect opportunity!
How much do I have to read?
There isn’t a set amount you are required to read to participate. Many people choose to set personal goals for themselves but the idea is just to read as much as you can for the week and see what you end up with at the end. It’s all in good fun!
When is this happening?
START:
Monday, November 30th @ 12:00AM (EST)
END:
Sunday, December 6th @ 11:59 PM (EST)
If you don't live in EST, .
How do I participate?
All you have to do to join up is to read! But read-a-thons are always much more fun if you participate in the games, join the discussion, and track your progress so we strongly encourage everyone to take part in that.
Where do I participate?
Keep on eye on the Read-a-Thon folder for updates, progress reports, and more! They'll start being posted closer to or after the event starts.
As in the past, we'll be posting little games and challenges for you guys to engage in along the way. We'll be posting new games every 12 hours throughout the week in the Read-a-Thon folder but you'll have all week to join in if you missed anything. The discussions and games keep the event active and lively so, again, we strongly encourage participation. Come play along and have some fun!
