His follow ons are a bit hit and miss. I think I liked odd number ones ad disliked even number ones."

Hmm, will have to see what I think

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments They have the same character (Gray, obviously lol) but he's off doing Strike Back type things.

Ah right

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Just finished Sleep Tight - I was toying between 4 and 5*, went for 4, but would really be 4.5. Another enjoyable read - this is the third in the series, and enjoyed the references to the Channel Isles.

Struggling with no of pages, so going to read a couple of doorstops, which will probably take me behind on no of books again.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Just finished another book, still 2 behind, and behind on page count. Nearly reached some of my targets though

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments You're doing great Desley. Just keep enjoying it!

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Finally finished another book, Titanic 2012 - I think I'm going to give up on the rest of the Robert W Walker books, I gave up on a series of his a couple of years ago and this has similar issues. Really behind on books

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments You have a lot to do (like the rest of us!) Sometimes things have to be put on the back burner for a while. It makes sense to jettison a writer that you aren't getting on with and devote precious reading time to something you will enjoy.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Another book finished - this was actually 4 in one, but as I read the omnibus edition I'll class it as one. Personally, I wish it had been a trilogy, I think it just went a tad too far in the fourth. Maybe if I'd read them as standalone books and interspersed them it wouldn't have been as bad.

On the plus side, it looks as though I'm nearly there with a few targets, and got another hairdresser appointment this week, so should hopefully get some reading done then.

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments I must admit, where I've looked at the writeups on GR for the two omnibus volumes I've read, because the other reviews were all on the individual works, I did a overall one under the omnibus which linked to the individual ones that I put under those, and just said what stars I'd awarded each and the overall rating, under the omnibus record, if you see what I mean.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments I decided to just do a star rating

message 62: by Pam (new)

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments Good idea. I do reviews because my memory is so awful I often can't recall a thing about a book. At least I now have reviews of those I've read since May 2015 to go back to.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Finished two books this weekend

Nope, I was very happy!

Finished another book this weekend, still 2 books behind though.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Finished another book, although my stats don't add up, so I'll have to figure out what I've missed!! Also don't seem to be able to find my reading challenge thing from the home page, so no idea how far behind I am - could be a good thing!!

message 67: by Joo (new)

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments On my home page my reading challenge is on the left under my currently reading books.

message 68: by Pam (new)

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments Yes mine's there too.

Joo (jooo) | 1351 comments I'm bang on track with 112 out of 150.
Desley, you've read 31 of 50.
I don't know how many you've read, Pam .... yet :)

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments I found one that said I'd read 31, but not the box that tells me if I'm on track

131 out of 100 Joo!

Desley, the thing should say so many out of so many with a percentage bar. I tried to show a picture of mine here but these img src tags never work when I try them. Only the alt tag displays.

challenge

Found it - wish I hadn't, I'm 6 books behind!!

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments Whoops - that happened to me last year just before the end of the challenge but I managed to read a few short ones and caught up.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Pam wrote: "Whoops - that happened to me last year just before the end of the challenge but I managed to read a few short ones and caught up."

Unfortunately reading short books means I miss another target.

Just finished another book, one of my favourite authors I've not read for a while, enjoyed it and off to investigate if there are any more in the series with how it ended

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Finished another book, but my tracker is out for some reason - I only gave it 3 stars as there was a bit too much technical stuff in places, although I do appreciate it is a true story. Now started my second classic of the year

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Finished another couple of books while away - Dracula's guest took ages, even though they were short stories, I really struggled to get into them, Bamboo Mirror was good, but a bit short. Got two books on the go, really need to get back into my paperback. Not going to hit my page count, but at least I've hit a few of my other targets. Must go and depress myself by finding out how many books behind I am.

message 77: by Pam (new)

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments Oh dear. If it's any consolation Desley I can't catch up with the number I have to read and though I try hard I do still pick up new ones....

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments I'm not sure what is going on this year, I don't seem to be able to catch up with anything!

message 79: by Pam (new)

Pam Baddeley | 3328 comments Me too. The housework is bad too though I did manage a few chores this weekend. Doing NaNo and the Xmas preps are now looming with pressies and cards needing to be wrapped and letters written for people abroad very soon....

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Another two finished, I think I am going to struggle to hit all my targets this year, 4 outstanding, 2 are unlikely, the other two probably are, seeing as one is to read 3 books with over 400 pages by the end of the year!! Could potentially read 3 GR author books, but I'd have to check them out rather than just read what I want. Better start thinking of next years books.

Desley (Cat fosterer) (booktigger) | 12476 comments Hmm, one page says I read 39 books, one said 41 - I can find one that is out so I've said 39, which makes me 8 books behind and impossible to do that in 2 days. I'm also behind on my page challenge, and not going to hit the doorstep challenge either. Oh well.
