Shirley | 69 comments Thanks for setting this up guys :)
For this task I just read Bitch Planet #1
Loved it straight away, must get to the rest of them. I've heard that Rat Queens, Vol. 1: Sass & Sorcery could be used that I'm using on the main challenge of non superhero comic when it gets to me from the library could be used too. Anyone else?

Jo (allweatherreader) | 105 comments Loved Bitch Planet too, really want a non-compliant tattoo now! The next volume isn't out for awhile but I am also waiting excitedly for it :)

Rat Queens is wonderful, it's one of my favourites for sure.

Shirley | 69 comments Thanks for that jo, I've been excited to read it since I heard of it.
This is my year of reading the comics I've heard are awesome but haven't got around to.

Me too! Rat Queens is one of my favorites too. I also think [book:Lumberjanes, Vol. 1: Beware the Kitten Holy
would be a great one - and for the task about teen protagonists.

Andrea Thatcher | 4 comments Definitely filled this requirement I think with the new Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, and Lady Killer this year. Picked up Bitch Planet at The Strand but haven't read it yet.

message 7: by Shirley (new)

Shirley | 69 comments I read most of lumberjanes last year and adored it! Lady killer I haven't heard of? But squirrel girl is high on my tbr list.

DarthVixReads | 26 comments Ooo thanks for the recs! I think I'm going to go with Bitch Planet #1!

message 9: by Shirley (new)

Shirley | 69 comments Hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)

message 10: by Jo (new)

Jo (allweatherreader) | 105 comments I'm a little fuzzy on what we're counting as feminist for this task, but it FEELS as though these should work, if anyone's still looking for recs (in addition to the awesome ones above - seriously everyone read Lumberjanes and Rat Queens and Ms Marvel and Bitch Planet):

Copperhead, Vol 1

Giant Days, Vol. 1

She-Hulk, Vol. 1: Law and Disorder

DarthVixReads | 26 comments Ugh yes!!! I went looking for a second volume just to see that there isn't one yet and I was like noooooooo! I need to read Rat Queens for sure!

quietprofanity | 72 comments I read Wonder Woman: Earth One, Volume One by Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette. It's pretty good. Like a lot of people I'd rather see women write this character but I appreciate that Morrison read up on feminist theory for his "feminist" take on the character. I wrote a review .
