30.5 - Dlmrose's task: Call the Grammar Police
March 4th is National Grammar Day as established by the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar.

Read 2 books from 2 different options. Indicate the options when you post.

Option 1. Brush up on your grammar: Read a non-fiction book with the genre Language on its main book page.

Option 2. Commonly confused: Read a book with one of these most commonly confused words in the TITLE: They’re, Their, There, Your, You’re, Its, It’s. Subtitles are excluded. Words must match exactly.

Option 3. March 8 is National Proofreading Day. Break out the red pen! Read a book with the entire TITLE in Red on the cover.
Turn Coat (The Dresden Files, #11) by Jim Butcher Purgatory Ridge (Cork O'Connor, #3) by William Kent Krueger Open Season by Linda Howard
Required: Include the cover

Correct, the entire title. It's OK if the subtitle and/or the author's name is red, but they don't need to be red.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3564 comments Got a few possibilites for option 3, if you could confirm the titles are red enough:

Tales of Old Japan Folklore, Fairy Tales, Ghost Stories and Legends of the Samurai by Algernon Bertram Freeman-Mitford
Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg
The Adventure of English 500 Ad to 2000 the Biography of a Language by Melvyn Bragg - would also work for option 1 I think, if the title isn't red enough.

Nicola | 1360 comments For option 3. Genki I An Integrated Course in Elementary Japanese I - Workbook (English and Japanese Edition) by Eri Banno ?. The whole cover is red so I see the white as being around the title as a highlighter to enable them to be read not as part of the letters themselves. The title is げん

Edit: nm, I have received a different cover anyway :-)

Embedded or stand-alone both work for the genre.

Do you have Under The Visible Life by Kim Echlin in hand? It looks orange not red. But I would take another look if you have more information

Present Darkness (Detective Emmanuel Cooper, #4) by Malla Nunn looks orange or a blend of orange and red, if you find a bigger image I'll take another look.

Songs of Willow Frost by Jamie Ford that's red

Nicola | 1360 comments The Black Dahlia (L.A. Quartet, #1) by James Ellroy Is this very dark blood red? I'm really not sure about the 'The' as it's very small. This is the version my local library says it has a copy of and I'm trying to look at this at night under lights and I'm squinting at my computer screen.

It looks like a gradient of black to red- and the "The" looks black.
