You remember something about a book, but don't remember its name. It can happen. You want to know which book it is so that you can rate it, or read it again. However, you can't remember the name. It's on the tip of your tongue, but isn't coming out.

Here, we can help you find that book. Post a description, everything that you remember: bits of the plot, characters, names, even a particular scene, or maybe the ending.

Minnu | 55 comments Oh, I am soo glad I found this thread!! I am looking for an old novel, which I remember reading at school. The narrator is female and she begins the story with something along the lines of "my mother could have been a witch if she wanted to be".
I am a bit hazy about the plot, but basically our heroine moves to a village, where there is an actual witches' coven. She is a witch but she doesnt realize that until the end. There is a jealous neighbour who calls herself a witch(but she isn't) and they are both in love with the same guy (a local widower?) The neighbour lady does all she can to sabotage the growing relationship between our girl and the local guy, even brewing up a love potion, which in the end causes her (the neighbour) to fall in love with another man.
Thats pretty much all i can recall, I just remember liking it a lot as a kid :) but can't remember its name

message 11: by Arlene (new)

Arlene Cherry are there actually 4 people (2 twins) or just a set of twins (2 brothers)? I know of a book that is about two sets of twins (4 people) and I don't want to give you the wrong title.

message 15: by Daly (new)

Daly I remember reading this books with these two twin girls in it a while ago. They had their own secret twin language and one of the words they said a lot was something around the lines of Laybird. I remember a guy getting involved, the twins hating each other and someone dying. Sorry this is pretty vague:(

Rich Thomas | 493 comments Looking for a book that is a kid series. Read it in 4th grade and wanted to finish it.
It was a story about an elf (?) in a world with flying ships. In on book there was a selling scene and there are other creatures there in the book, not from real life. Remember getting a girl as a friend (another elf (?)) during a mission.
The main character had a name that was hard to remember.
Also there was a floating citadel scene, I think.

The most important fact is that there was FLOATING SHIPS.
On the first book, I think, there was the picture of the main character, drawn, with a boat floating in the air behind him. I believe, he was poor and always wanted a flying ship and he got it somehow.

The book was only 200 or less pages. Cover where brown or green, depending on the book in the series.

Tobias Langhoff (tobiasvl) | 12 comments I think it would help if people tried to remember when they read the book, that could really help narrow it down!
