Introduce yourself and let everyone know how you felt about the first book, and your thoughts on reading this book. This book has a lot of mixed opinions already, so we know that some of you will be love-reading this book and some of you will be hate-reading this book, so let us know where you stand and any expectations you may have!

PLEASE REMEMBER: Keep all discussions respectful and courteous to other readers. No insults or harassment will be tolerated.

Amy (amymayyx) | 1 comments Hello, I'm Amy! I read the first book and really liked it however there were some points I was a bit iffy on. For example Fayre as a character was a little annoying at times! It was my first time reading a retelling of any sort so wasn't well versed in what they 'should' be like which could have influenced my opinion. I have read A Court of Mist and Fury as I couldn't wait to pick it up once it'd come out, but I'm rereading it along with you guys as I loved it so much! I can't wait to hear your opinions on it, good and bad!!

message 3: by Bones (new)

Bones McKay | 1 comments Hey, I'm Bones. I'm reading both books. So far I'm not really enjoying myself. Planning to be done ACOTAR by Monday.

message 4: by Samantha (new)

Samantha (samantha_uk) | 1 comments I'm going to be reading both books for this read-along. It's my next book TBR, I'm looking forward to it! ☺️

Ren (readingrenbow) | 4 comments Hi, I'm Ren! I read the first book last year and although I liked it at the time, now that I'm rereading it, I've changed my mind about quite a few things. At this point, the only reason I'm continuing to the second book is to see more of Rhysand.

message 6: by Ana (new)

Ana Rodriguez Hi!! I'm Ana, I recently finished the first book- I liked it... Didn't LOVE it but I'm looking forward to the second book. I've heard some good reviews. Looking forward to the read along :)

Kayla (Heroic Pages) (heroicpages) | 12 comments Hi I'm Kayla. I read ACoTaR with this group last year and gave it a 2/5 stars. I wasn't going to read ACoMaF.....but....let's just see how this goes. I suspect I'll be chucking books at walls.

Giselle Luna (booksbeforedudes221b) Hey I'm Giselle.
I read ACOTAR last year and loved it, although I didn't like some things about it but I'm looking forward to re-read it and see if my opinions have changed.

message 9: by Fina (new)

Fina | 2 comments Hi everyone, I'm Fina and I'm fairly new to YA books. ^_^/)

Somehow I've always been more interested in crime books, but when I discovered Booktube and Sam and all the other great Booktubers a few months ago I decided to give this genre a try! I chose ACOTAR because I wanted to read a series that isn't already 4 books in, and also beauty&the beast retelling sounded like a good way to start.

I've enjoyed ACOTAR for what it is, YA fantasy, so I didn't judge the characters too hard. I'm looking forward to start reading ACOMAF since I really really really really want to know if Feyre ends up with Rhysand!!

Isabelle | 1 comments Hi I'm Isabelle and I thoroughly enjoyed A Court Of Mist and Fury. I gave ACOTAR 3/5 stars but I was blown away by ACOMAF. This sequel deserves all the stars in the world imo. Loved it so much from the banter and the relationships. And thanks to this book, I got in both a book standstill and book hangover. I don't know what to do anymore. So I guess I'm gonna join this read along because I'm dying to reread this book

message 11: by Delana (new)

Delana Avelar | 2 comments Hi, i'm Delana. I actually really enjoyed the first book. I was very excited to read the second book as soon as it was out. But then I read some reviews that said the author made some very big changes in the characters personalities, so I've puting this book off because I'm not looking foward to reading this. But, I'll give it a try to see how it goes.

message 12: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 1 comments Hi, I am Katherine. I read the first book and did not enjoy it, the story was only interesting in the first 3 chapters and the last part, under the mountain. Other then that, I found Tamlin a very flat character and did not like him at all. Even though I didn't enjoy ACOTAR, I planned on continuing the series because I loved Sarah J Maas's other series.
I just wanted to say that I have heard from a few different people that most readers who didn't like ACOTAR, loved ACOMAF and vice versa.
So brace yourself.

message 13: by Merel (new)

Merel (merelvh) Hello! I'm Merel :) I just re-read ACOTAR last week and ACOMAF arrived at my door 10 minutes ago! I really liked ACOTAR, though I found the beginning a bit slow but it didn't bother me too much. I've heard a lot of amazing things about ACOMAF and I will start reading as soon as I finish the book I'm currently reading (the winner's kiss)
Also, this is the first time I'm joining in on a readalong so I don't know if there are any special rules or discussions/activities/whatever. But I'm very excited to read this book with all of you!

message 14: by Caty (new)

Caty | 2 comments Hi everyone ! I'm Cathy. I quite enjoyed the first book (gave it 4 stars if I remember correctly). Like Merel, I found the first chapters a bit slow, but the last third of the book made up for the few things I didn't like. I heard raving reviews about ACOMAF, so... I'm intrigued :)

message 15: by Brittany The (new)

Brittany The (brittanythebookdreamer) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Brittany. I enjoyed ACOTAR quite a bit. I had a few issues with the pacing, especially in the beginning. At times I became frustrated with Feyre. I have a love/hate relationship with love triangles so when it started to develop at the end I started having issues with where the next book would lead. I'm going to be reading ACOMAF with a reserved, yet intrigued disposition. This is my first readalong and I'm so excited to be a part of it!

message 16: by Katherine (new)

Katherine | 1 comments Hi! I'm Katherine. I felt like the first half of ACOTAR was very slow and drudgey, but it really picked up toward the end and I ended up liking it based on that last section. I believe I read somewhere that Sarah J. Maas wrote ACOTAR earlier than the Throne of Glass books, so I'm hoping the poor pacing was due more to first novel syndrome than anything else. I wasn't crazy about the main love interest (I've actually forgotten his name :) ) but I'm more in it for the fantasy elements (i.e. evil fairies) anyway.

Looking forward to the discussions!

Faith (afgolden) | 2 comments Hello! I'm Faith. I was a little late to the bandwagon so I just read ACOTAR a couple of weeks ago. I didn't love the book but there were certain parts I liked and certain people I want to read more about in the second book. I want to see some growth in Feyre. I want more of Rhysand. I want/hope this book is better than the last. Can't wait to read along with everyone and chat about the book.

message 18: by Joni (Jonez) (new)

Joni (Jonez) (jonezee) Hello! I'm Jonez. I am a huge fan of fairy tale retellings, especially B&TB retellings. I just finished ACOTAR a few weeks ago, and while I liked the story itself, I had trouble with the protagonist Feyre. I feel like her character's personality was in juxtaposition to her characters actions. Feyre was supposed to be an intelligent and skilled hunter who seemed to take on the role of head of the family, yet she had moments throughout the book where she came off as nothing more than a petulant child. I have began the second book, and so far I am really liking it. I don't think I am liking Feyre any better quite yet, but Rhysand is making up for it...

message 19: by Huda (new)

Huda (1readersjournal) | 1 comments Hi everyone,

My name is Marian and I'm a huge fan of Sarah J Maas's Throne of Glass series. I read ACOTAR back in January in anticipation for the release of ACOMAF and unfortunately I was let down by it.

I couple issues with it. Mainly with how stupid Feyre was and the decisions she was making (she was so infuriating) as well as the weird possessiveness of the males. It felt kinda icky and took away from my enjoyment.

I am really excited to start ACOMAF though because I enjoyed the last third of ACOTAR a lot and it did give me hope that the series will improve. I am going to keep me expectations low so I am not hugely disappointed again.

I'm super excited to discuss it with you all and to see if it lives up to the current hype. :)

message 20: by Jakelene (new)

Jakelene Hello everyone! I'm Jakelene. :)

I actually was motivated to read ACOTAR last year for the Random Readalongs (never participated in the group, but I watched all of the liveshow and really enjoyed it.) I basically hated the book but LOVED all of the discussion and criticism that happened, and I want to be able to contribute more this round.

I've only read part one so far, but I'm really enjoying it (I'm mildly surprised, since I didn't dig the first book at all). Here's hoping that it stays that way!
