Cool I'll look out for that edition!

We're about hunkered down though, with supplies. So we should be fine. I'll post when things get back to "normal" or close to it....
Thinking of you and everyone affected Chris.
Do you mind checking in again when it's over? Just so we know he's ok

Yes, Margret, I'll check in. They're saying power outages could be pretty extensive, but I'll post something when I can.

Good Luck buddy, hope all of your family remains healthy and safe!

That's good to hear buddy!

Okaaaaaaaay, keeping it bookish + moving on from the sombreness without being too callous...in 3...2...1...
Ima thinking of joining the Dewey's 24 hour readathon on Oct 21. It will be my first readathon ever (sometimes it feels like I'm new at everything) and I was wondering if you peeps have done any before and have any advice?
Also a heads up if anyone wants to join since it looks like a lot of us will be in the middle of a bunch of chunky munky BRs around then. There are prizes and mini-challenges and cool stuff of all kinds + this edition is their ten-year anniversary so they'll prolly do something special. So I want everyone to WIN. Or at least take a shot.
Check out the event
To any (potential) snarks, I am in no way affiliated to/cunningly promoting this readathon. It's pretty famous already. I am however a shameless promoter of reading :-) and winning prizes for reading fantasy has gotta be pretty high on my list of stuff I wanna do.
GR (a readathon affiliate) will be my main tracking platform since I don't DO any other social media.
So, what say, should I do it?

Anyway I was really nervous since it was my first signing and I was tripping over my words and all that I was thinking Brett was having difficulty understanding but I managed to say how I enjoyed his first book and pointed out a funny observation with the ecosystem in the books and he said that he had appendixes on it and it was good to know he thought of it and explained it to me even though it wasn't a detractor.
Anyway I enjoyed talking to him and letting out my inner stupid fangirl and it probably made my week and also influencing me to prioritise demon cycle now. Now I guess I wait for the next author who I read/enjoyed to visit.
Sounds like an awesome experience! I'm glad you got to meet him. :) I think authors appreciate the fangirl/boy stuff haha.

Thank you!

It's time to give back to authors who have bestowed upon us their stories and new worlds to dive into, and all you have to do is vote! Yes, there are real trophies and they will be given to the winners. Full details and the poll here:
Went out to a show last night and was pleasantly surprised by the opening act. Her name is Bishop Briggs and that girl can sing like you wouldn’t believe..
Autocorrect fun.
I texted my eldest a question and she replied. I text her back Danke to get a rise out of her for using something I didn't think she would know. My phone autocorrected to Dank. Dank to me to a musty damp description. For her it's the equivalent of off the hook or some other outdated phase that was popular 20 years ago. So her and her friend are cracking up reading the text. They get in the car when my wife picks them up and are still cracking up saying, what's up with dad trying to be hip using dank? My wife told them what I really meant and that wasn't nearly as funny or cool. l
I hope everybody's next read is dank per my daughter's definition and not mine.

Then again I would probably have the same reaction to your kids if my dad said that to me or if he started using dead memes or something😂😂😂😂👍🏽👍🏽

That reminded me the time I sent an email in french to a coworker and instead of saying "Salut Emilie" I sent the email with: "Slut Emilie". I was mortified!

Boy is that edition's blurb terrible... it says next to nothing and what it does say paints a very wrong picture about the book...
The old man is Zampano... he is blind, and dies in the Foreword... which is written by the tattoo shop intern Johnny... who went into his house with a friend and found a weird manuscript... the manuscript is a dissection of a fake documentary... the documentary is about a famous photographer who moves into a house only for a door to appear into an endless hallway that defies physics... the book is Zampano's manuscript littered with footnotes by Zampano, Johnny, and even the editors sometimes... that should give an idea of what the book is about at least... without revealing much... even tho the book has 750 pages, it's more like 400-450 if you remove all the wasted space in the more visual segments... I bought this 2nd edition version:
