It's time for another Monthly reading wrap up. I can't believe half of 2016 is already gone! Did you set a reading goal for yourself this year? If so how are you doing with your goal? I set a goal of 50 books and am sitting right at halfway finished (25).
This month I read....
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. I loved this book! The concept of the old vintage photographs being interwoven throughout the text was super interesting to me and it was done so well! I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I'm a bit more skeptical of the movie after seeing the changes they've made just in the trailer alone, but I'll still see it.
The Bluest Eye. This was a beautifully written heartbreaking story. A lot of the symbolism went over my head, but I still enjoyed it.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I finished the audiobook of this one. Always a favorite! I was also able to have some HP fun on pottermore.com this month with being sorted in my American Wizarding School (Illvermorny) house. I got Pukwudgie. I'm a Hufflepuff for my Hogwarts house. If you're an HP fan, have you done the sorting on Pottermore yet? What houses are you?
Pride and Prejudice. I've always wanted to give classics like these a try and I'm so glad I did! The language made the reading process a bit slower than I'm used to, but the story was excellent.
Don't forget Summer Reading for all ages is still happening at the library! Come by to participate and be entered to win a prize. We also have events for all ages so come by or check our website (gastonlibrary.org) for a schedule of events!
