Una Tiers (unatiers) Greetings!
Many of you know we had two ties for the September book of the month.
T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton will be our October read. I will post questions around the first of the month.
This book is abundant at libraries and second hand stores.
Looking forward to chatting.

Una Tiers (unatiers) Our BOTM for October is T is for Trespass by Sue Grafton.
Following are a few discussion questions:
What is your favorite part of the Kinsey/Henry relationship?
How would you describe the Klein character?
What was your initial reaction to two plots?
Grafton is pretty detailed on the adult guardianship court. Is this news to you? Is it believable?

Keep in mind, not to spoil the ending with any comments you make during the month.
Best,
Una

I liked the fact that Kinsey and Henry appeared to be equals, despite their age difference. Henry did not appear to be patronizing.

About the adult guardianship discussion, I don't know what the laws are in California, but, kind of knowing what they are in Virginia (it's not my area of practice but I know a little about it), I wasn't too surprised. Sometimes it seems too easy to get a court to find that an older adult is incapable. I'd be interested to know what others think on that.

Una Tiers (unatiers) California is under the Uniform Probate Act. If this took place in Illinois, Kinsey and Henry wouldn't be entitled to notice of the guardianship. The one family member, the great niece from New York would be entitled to notice. In Illinois, Gus would have a court investigator who would interview him. Clearly the bad guys in the story took liberties with the rules.
