What'd you think?"
For a book that I knew nothing about, beyond my boss handing it to me one day, I really enjoyed it. I do really enjoy stories that take an element of myth and give it some form of real world plausibility, and I think the medical research side of that was well done.
I did wish that there was a little more back story in regards to the spreading of the plague and people trying to survive it, maybe the setting up of the Colony, rather than just jumping straight into it, but I'm willing to suspend that thought until I've read the other two.

Interesting. I read The Passage several years ago and I struggled with it, personally. But it's been a long time and my opinions have changed with age. I remember feeling like the different parts totally jolted me and I found myself wanting to go back to the world of the previous part. But I did get ahold of the audiobook to reread soon. : )

I've heard such good things about Scalzi. Funny. I think it's his Fuzzy Nation that I've heard most about, though I haven't read anything by him to say for certain. Glad you enjoyed! : )

Agreed! She wrote it so you didn't trust anybody and I sure didn't!
Just finished Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.. oh my wow, it is amaze-balls and I need the next one right now. Curse this having to wait a year business

Death of a Gossip
Death of a Perfect Wife
Death of a Cad
Death of an Outsider
Death of a Hussy
I've been sick as a dog since November 1st, so I've gotten ZERO stitching done, but at least I've had time to read.... ::sigh::
EDIT: Oh, I think I forgot this one... Before I read those MC Beaton ones, I read Called to Justice by Edith Maxwell

In the Valley, Where Belladonna Grows by Tim Lebbon
Death of a Macho Man by M.C. Beaton
Death of a Nag by M.C. Beaton
Death of a Charming Man by M.C. Beaton
Death of a Prankster by M.C. Beaton
Death of a Greedy Woman by M.C. Beaton
Death of a Travelling Man by M.C. Beaton

Being practically on bed rest, my books are getting more attention, especially now that I've realized that I can't push it, even if I want to.

Oh, that's exciting! That's been my biggest reservation about reading the book. I saw the movie as a kid and have loved it to pieces ever since. I didn't want my love for the book to somehow diminish that so I'm pleased you appreciated it.

I just finished Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready
I'm less than impressed. I haven't rated a book less than 3 stars in a long, long time. Normally, I DNF before I can even get to that point. But I kept chugging along with this one. I mean, I read it in a day so it was fast-paced enough to hold my attention. But just so much to disappoint. On to the next, I suppose.
This weeks finishes are Nefertiti's Heart by A.W. Exley and Nightmare At 20,000 Feet: Horror Stories by Richard Matheson
And then there was Execution of Innocence by Christopher Pike and The Shore Of Women by Pamela Sargent

lol Well, it helped that I was sick all of November. I did pretty much nothing but either read or listen to a book and stitch. (^_^)
