A Court of Mist and Fury
question
Tamlin the tool?

Am I the only one who thinks Tamlin is getting a REALLY bad rep.
Like OK he shouldn't have locked Feyre up, OK... He SHOULD have fought harder under the mountain, but like all his mistakes were human like... He locked Feyre up because he was scared too! Scared he wouldn't be able to protect her, he took it 20 steps too far but he still cares about her. His biggest concern is her safety (though he should probably make sure she eats and stuff because y'know foods kinda important), So he isn't perfect, but he deserves someONE. Tamlin deserves to be happy too! I'm actually hoping he finds a mate in the 3rd book... Before I get any hate I am TEAM RHYS. I just think everyone deserves to be happy in the book... well except for King Hybern and Ioanthe. (Just to make it clear I don't think Tamlin and Feyre belong with each other, I think that they USED to belong together before under the mountain, They are completely different people now.)

AMEN. I cried for him in ACOWAR. Everyone cried when Rhys died, but I just cried for Tamlin giving a piece of himself to Rhys to save him and telling Feyre to be happy. I don't understand why everyone is SO dramatic about Tamlin and act like he's the spawn of Satan and the worst thing to ever happen to women... He acted the way he did at the end of ACOMAF because he thought, as he should have, that the love of his life was being forced into a life she did not want. She sacrificed herself to save Tamlin, so he thought he would do whatever was possible as well, regardless of the consequences, to save her--I mean come on, he thought she had been kidnapped by the guy known throughout the kingdom to be horribly evil and cruel. So unfair. My poor poor Tamlin.

The only thing that bothers me about Tamlin is the way he betrayed Rhys and allowed his family to be killed. Other than that I think his other actions can be justified. I felt a lot more sympathy for him after ACOWAR because its painfully obvious he's still in love with Feyre.
Beleive me, I don't like Tamlin but In ACOWAR and ACOFAS I didn't like how even though though everyone was even, it didn't feel like it.
I pity the little guy. What he did was so so wrong but he deserves happiness same as Feysand and I think hes been punished enough for the abusive mistakes and he must be in almost the same amount of pain as Feyre in the beginning of ACOMAF.
I think that because Tamlin was initially portrayed as the good guy and Feyre love interest in ACOTAR when he was written as like a villian in ACOMAF it was such conflicting portrayals it just left me a bit confused.
