Sherry | 8261 comments If there is a problem with this schedule, please let me know. I had a bit of a hard time with it, because Barb had so many of hers win, and I tried not to have two in a row for her.

Carol | 7657 comments Looks good, thank you.

message 4: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 8152 comments Thank you for alternating mine! But, if you need to change any, I should be ok, just as long as they are not in the same month.

message 5: by Ann D (new)

Ann D | 3781 comments We generally travel in May, although we don't have definite plans yet. Would anyone with a winter date be willing to trade?

Ann

Priyanka Sriram (pyk12) Oops! Sorry, as I'm new to this group I could not understand this schedule thing. What's difference between classic and reading list? So do we read both the books? And also what are you switching/trading between each other?
Can some one please explain it to me?
Thank you...

message 15: by Sherry, Doyenne (new)

Sherry | 8261 comments We have two lists, the Classics and the Reading List. Each six-month period we have a nomination and voting procedure. I keep track of the Reading List nominations and Sara does the Classics. You are free to read both, either or neither. No rules. As far as "switching," what we do is that the person who nominated the book starts the discussion, so if I've scheduled a discussion during a month that is inconvenient for the nominator, we work out a switch. More information is in the Orientation folder.

Priyanka Sriram (pyk12) Oh I see. That's wonderful, I understood now completely. Thank you so much Sherry. That's very kind of you.

Sheila | 2143 comments Just finishing up F451 this evening. I recall seeing the film years ago, but don't remember ever having read the book, why not?

message 18: by Chris (new)

Chris | 24 comments Great list! "The Tsar of Love and Techno" was my favorite read of 2016. I just bought a copy of "A Gentleman in Moscow," and plan on reading Towles' "Rules of Civility" sometime in the next few weeks.

message 19: by Ann D (new)

Ann D | 3781 comments Brainstorm, I'm so glad to hear how much you enjoyed The Tsar of Love and Techno. I hope you will join us for our May discussion. I haven't read the book yet, but I nominated it because I was so impressed with author Anthony Marra's A Constellation of Vital Phenomena.

I definitely will! "A Constellation of Vital Phenomena" was great, too.

It's Amor Towles' A Gentleman in Moscow for May, and Colson Whitehead's The Underground Railroad for June.
