I'm reading March: Book Two right now, and I didn't really intend for this to be a Challenge book, but I realized it has two authors: John Lewis and Andrew Aydin (as well as artist Nate Powell). I might use it for this category instead of the book I had picked out earlier. Does anyone think this would not fit?

Badseedgirl I have read The Shadow Revolution by Clay Griffith and Susan Griffith, although for some reason Only Clay Griffith is listed as the title author on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, they are both listed on the book.

Aimee Grovez | 9 comments I read Places I Never Meant To Be: Original Stories by Censored Writers and I thought it was a super cool book that I would normally not read. It also made me think about a topic in the literary world that I don't really think about much, censorship. I definitely recommend this book

Oh good, thanks. I've got plenty of Anthologies in my hoard to choose from then!
Carniepunk
Sympathy for the Devil
Out of Tune
Unnatural Creatures

Jenn (jenncompton) | 36 comments I'm going to read Keys of Life by Carolyn Schield & Tom Vorbeck...it's free on Amazon today (thanks to my FreeBooksy emails!).

message 107: by Elyse (last edited Feb 14, 2017 07:51AM) (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) I'm reading Let it Snow for this task. Also, any Rachel Cohn/David Levithan would work (Nick & Nora, Dash & Lily).

message 108: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Winzer | 5 comments I just came across No Rest for the Dead. It is a crime mystery novel written by 26 authors! They were each given a chapter outline but not allowed to see the work of any of the authors. I'm excited to see how it turned out! What a great idea!

I already read my book with multiple authors but I may have to read this instead. This sounds very interesting!

The Forgotten Room is really good!!

message 112: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) A good YA choice is Violent Ends, each chapter is written by a different author and different POV at a school shooting. It's pretty interesting.

message 113: by Evelyn (new)

Evelyn | 30 comments I read Everything for Her by Alexa Riley. The author Alexa Riley are two authors who write as Alexa Riley. This book romanticize stalking and obsession. Miles, the love interest of the heroine, has been obsessed with Mallory and controlled her life over 5 years.

I loved V-Wars edited by Jonathan Maberry, in a sense it is an anthology of vampire short stories, but they all connect to tell a full story. There is a second book of V Wars I will read for this prompt.

message 115: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 6 comments For this one I will read All American Boys. I bought it for my little brother at the height of all the police brutality in the news, and have been itching to read it ever since he powered through it (and that boy is definitely not a fan of reading lol)

message 116: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I think this prompt is very subjective. For instance, I am taking it as meaning more than one author on the title page. Not two people who write as one author. However, that does not mean there is anything wrong with that interpretation.

message 117: by Felicia (new)

Felicia | 21 comments I read an anthology for this titled Angels of Darkness. Among the authors are Ilona Andrews and Nalini Singh.

I was about to post something similar. Arguably any graphic novel where there is a writer & an illustrator would work, but this one has two writers and an illustrator.

March can also work for
-a book by an author of color
-a book by someone you admire
-a book with pictures
-a book set in two different time periods (vol. 1 for sure)
-a book where the author is a different ethnicity
-a book involving travel
-a librarian recommendation
-(depending on what you usually read) a best seller from a genre you normally don't read
-(if you are really stretching it) a book with a month in the title.

It's only the month of March & I am crazy enough to think I can find both a graphic novel & a "traditional" novel to read for all of the categories. (audio book excepted)

Go for it!! I tried to do that last year, but I guess I lost my momentum halfway through.

Check with me in November...I might only be reading graphic novels by then because they are shorter.

message 121: by Erika (new)

Erika wickwire I am reading The Sleeping Beauty Killer by Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke for this category. Just happened to spot it on the library shelf and knew it would fit.

message 122: by Cheri (new)

Cheri (jovali2) | 242 comments One of my all-time favorite books has two authors -- Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik. It's a fast, delightful read.

message 125: by Brandyn (new)

Brandyn (brandy_k) | 82 comments I own so many options for this category, but I keep forgetting them so I'm going to list them here so I have a chance of remembering.

Outrage by John Sandford and Michelle Cook
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
Mr. Kiss and Tell by Rob Thomas and Jennifer Graham
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two by John Tiffany and JK Rowling

Once you hit reply, and the comment box opens for you to begin writing you will see a link that says "add book/author" just above the comment box on the right side. Click that link and type in your book title or author name and hit search. Once you see your book, click "add" next to it and it will automatically insert the link in your comment.

the trick is to post while using a browser. Sadly, GR STILL has not gotten their act together and made this feature available within the app.

Amanda (readinginhonor) (readinginhonor) | 0 comments Would any of James Patterson books where he has a "Co- Author" work ... Like 2nd Chance or Step on a Crack

message 129: by Samantha (WLABB) (new)

Samantha (WLABB) (samanthawlabb) I selected Violent Ends. It's a YA book about a school shooting told from 17 different perspectives.

This was a very interesting book.

Keri | 43 comments I just finished reading Two From the Heart by James Patterson. I really liked his past lit. books....but this one left me disappointed. I am glad that it was a quick read...and now I can start on something new.

message 133: by Wednesday (new)

Wednesday | 42 comments I read The Time of My Life, an auto-biography written by Patrick Swayze and his wife Lea Niemi. Its a fun, quick read, but the sad thing is it was written and released when he was fighting cancer, and we all know how that ended.

message 134: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey (lindseybo) | 30 comments I ended up reading and loving The Good Widow The Good Widow by Liz Fenton

message 135: by Rose (new)

Rose (readingroses) I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Gwendy's Button Box was released this past May and it's by Stephen King and Richard T. Chizmar. Really quick read!

message 136: by Rachel (new)

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 643 comments I'm reading Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. It's amazing so far!

message 137: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments I just finished Amy poehler's book and have nowhere to put it! She has chapters and notes written by other people, do you think I could count it? They're not actually listed as authors.

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) Tara wrote: "I just finished Amy poehler's book and have nowhere to put it! She has chapters and notes written by other people, do you think I could count it? They're not actually listed as authors."

It doesn't count as multiple authors.

12. A bestseller from a genre you don't normally read. Do you normally read celebrity memoirs?
32. A book about an interesting woman. Do you find her interesting?
36. A book written by someone you admire. Do you admire her?

message 139: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments I've filled all of those

message 140: by Elyse (new)

Elyse (winesaboutbooks) Tara wrote: "I've filled all of those"

Bummer. Any of them you can bump around? Or it's just a book you read that doesn't fit a challenge. lol

Malaraa Tara wrote: "I just finished Amy poehler's book and have nowhere to put it! She has chapters and notes written by other people, do you think I could count it? They're not actually listed as authors."

Can you find either an author you like who has recommended it? Or nudge a librarian to after the fact recommend it? You may already have those filled also though. Or a lot of us decided a "trip" to the store was close enough for bought on a trip. That's the only things other than what Elyse mentioned that I can think of to put it in.

message 142: by Tara (new)

Tara Bates | 1008 comments Yeah I have all of those filled as well. I guess I'll have to either keep it out or stretch my definition of multiple authors.

message 143: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments I was reading The Secret Loves of Geek Girls for this and my library loan expired and I ended up on a hold list. In the meantime I read The Fire This Time: A New Generation Speaks about Race.

I'd recommend both.

I just discovered that Charles Todd is actually two authors, a mother-son team (one of whom is named Charles Todd, plus his mother Caroline Todd). So any their books would work. I just read the first Inspector Rutledge mystery, A Test of Wills. They also write Bess Crawford mysteries, starting with A Duty To The Dead, and it looks like there are a few non-series books, too.

message 147: by Naina (new)

Naina (naynay55) | 113 comments I ended up reading The Kids Are All Right: A Memoir for this one written by four siblings. Really good read full of 80's nostalgia.

message 148: by Susan (new)

Susan (ofearna) I have several books (read & unread) by C.T. Adams & Cathy Clamp but there's that trilogy by "Valerie Vayle", an oddity in historical romance...

message 149: by Tania (new)

Tania | 678 comments I imagine any of the Chicken Soup books would be perfect for this - they usually have multiple editors listed, and of course every story in the collection was written by a different person. I just read Chicken Soup for the Cat & Dog Lover's Soul: Celebrating Pets as Family with Stories About Cats, Dogs and Other Critters by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Marty Becker, Carol Kline.

message 150: by Agnieszka (new)
