Or something. I'm sick. Hard to think. LOL

Also, it has mentions on InuYasha, that gives bonus points LOL!

Because yes, I am CDO like that.
^.^
So, what do yall think of Declan's behavior?

Declan doesn't hesitate to help people, even if he does take off their roof in the process...

And yes Declan is smug, but in a weird way I like him. It almost feels he acts overly smug just to wind Rose up sometimes :D

I have to say that I really liked the different type of shifter IA does in this series. She doesn't get props for that.

Yes, there are a lot of systems and things in this that I like. Oh, and Jack... How adorable. LOL

:-D

(Actually, no one talks about subverting shifter stereotypes. But whatever.)
:D

Don't you love William?

Tell me all Your feelings on William! :P
I really enjoyed it. I would like to read what happened to Jack and George after they moved though, if their Magic got stronger and stuff.
Are the other books in the series about the same characters?

Are the other books in the series about the same characters? "
Jack and George show up again in The Edge book #3. And in Innkeeper #2.

Oh, William... LOL
So we know that in the Weird, changeling children are separated from everyone else and sent off for training, condition, what have you. The dangerous unstable ones are most likely to end up trained killers. We know William ended up in the Red Legion, and everything that happened with Declan, etc.
We know he's emotionally damaged. We know he's dangerous if he chooses to be, or if he's backed into a corner. We know he's got complex shit going on. We know he's been through hell.
So Ilona Andrews decide to distill this complexity down into a sit-down convo with a very unstable but stereotypical Nice Guy because "Why do you like him and not me?"
Like, I get it. But really? This could have been handled better. LOL I liked everything surrounding that bit, but that convo between Rose and William on the porch steps caused me to roll my eyes so hard I had to put them back in place by hand.

LOL!
You know, I felt that same way the first time I read it.
Then I read Bayou Moon. The way shifters are in the Edge is that they are more like...children regarding emotional matters. They don't get it and are very...animalistic in their emotional responses. The girl William ends up with has a family member who dated a shifter. The advice she was given was something like "don't mess with him if you don't want him forever cause he'll not understand and kill anyone who touches you. And possibly you, too."

I really like everything about how changelings are done here, and William seeing how Jack's been raised vs. how things are done in the Weird, and his statement that he was going to stay and fight for Jack.

Oh, yes.
So much this. That scene with Jack and William made my heart hurt a little.
What I WISHED Rose had said to William was "You do have family. You have Declan. You're like a brother to him and he was (and is) willing to risk almost everything to help you." I think he could have understood that.

He feels adult feelings, but processes them like a child.
Rose has the tools for dealing with this. We know that by seeing how well she's done with Jack and George. And I feel like she understands it, and all the elements were almost there but it just didn't quite make it onto the page.
You know, you can tell how much I like the book and the world building, because if I didn't, this one part wouldn't bother me nearly as much. LOL

IKR?
I love the world building, too. I have to say that the entire Edge series has some of the most interesting worldbuilding ever. What I HATE is that IA went pretty dark for me starting in William's book.
Though, I have to say, Rose's book wasn't exactly bright and airy, lol. But I know why I feel this way about Bayou Moon but I don't want to say because Holy Spoilers, Batman!
