Jamie | 23 comments It's time to reduce the piles of books that have overtaken my life. I have a tendency to hoard. I have a list of 52 books that I'm planning to read this year but I'm going to wing the rest of it. If you've ever had to move books (twice in two years this last time), then you'll understand why having fewer physical books can actually be good. Even 100+ physical books finding new homes will mean fewer moving boxes, fewer stacks, and more happy readers in the world.

My overall Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ goal is 208 books (4 a week) and I'm counting re-reads for that so while I've read 16 books so far this year, I've only read 8 on my TBR. So many books, so little time!

Jamie | 23 comments #9 Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed - this one has been on my TBR for YEARS and I own both a physical and ebook copy. Finally!!! Whew.

Hi, Jamie! So glad you've joined us in the quest for Olympus. And nine down--woo hoo!

[And, no, it's not hoarding if it's books. At least, that's what I keep telling myself.]

I caught up on my overall reading goal but it looks like I'd better get cracking on my mountain climbing!

Jamie | 23 comments #22 Ghosts

I keep getting distracted by other books. I'm so far down the mountain. Ahhhhh!!!!

message 13: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 23 comments Well, if I want to hit 150 on my TBR I'm going to have to read 8.5 books a week for the rest of the year. I got really sidetracked. Oops!

Jamie | 23 comments It's a good thing I've been hoarding ebooks for years because I have a lot of choices.

#23 Fairy Debt - I bought this short story over a year ago and despite it being by one of my favorite authors I hadn't read it. I think I need to take a closer look at my hoard.

#24 Armed & Fabulous - Apparently I went on some sort of "first book in the cozy mystery series" buying kick a couple of years ago because I have A LOT of unread cozies.

#25 The Rules: A Guide for People Owned by Cats - Why did I buy this?

Jamie | 23 comments #26 Love & Elephants
#27 Death of Dapper Snowman (I might have read this twice this year!)
#28 Into the Dark: An Echo Falls Mystery

If I read all the cozies in my hoard I can get back on track!

Jamie | 23 comments #29 Death of Crafty Knitter
#30 Love Singer - Um, wow, not even sure what to say about this one, hmmm...

message 17: by Jamie (new)

Jamie | 23 comments #31 Wisteria Witches - all I can say is thank goodness for the obsession I had with cozies a couple of years ago, and that I didn't get rid of them when I realized I wasn't likely to read them all (I only got rid of about half of them).

Cozies tend to be shorter so I don't want to apply them all to my overall Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ reading goal because I'm trying to get my average pages per book back to 300 pages. Sigh...

I managed to get it down to 8 books a week to climb this mountain so I just need 2 more to be on target.

Jamie | 23 comments #32 The Deadly Art Affair
#33 The Deadly Legal Affair

I made it through 7.5 books last week but waited to post until I finished the 8th book. Ahhh!!!

Jamie | 23 comments #36 The Deadly Restaurant Affair
#37 The Deadly Secret Affair

This series wasn't very good, even though it ended stronger than it started. Now I need to read 9 books a week. I dont know that I will meet this goal but I'm going to keep trying.

#38 Ajax Penumbra 1969 - I must have bought this after I read Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore but I didn’t read it. That’s pretty typical with my ebooks, something I really need to stop doing!

Jamie | 23 comments #39 Homo Evolutis (a TED talk that did not work as a book, the formatting was wacky)
#40 Beware Dangerism! (a TED talk in book form, very good topic).

I know I'm not making 150 because I ended up reading books that weren't on my TBR but that's ok. I had a good time reading what I ended up reading. :-)

Jamie | 23 comments #41 Moriarty (Horowitz) - after two years on my TBR it's done!

Jamie | 23 comments I was sidetracked but new books but that's ok. Next year, I'll try again.
