Not sure what to read this month? Try these challenges on for size!

*Read a book with a character named June or one that has "June" in the title
*Find a beach read! No, seriously--pick a book that has the beach as a setting
*It's Adopt a Shelter Cat month! Why not read a cat or dog mystery?
*Let's show some state pride: pick a book written by a Missouri author
*Go big by reading a book set in a big metropolitan city or get that hometown feeling by reading about a sleepy small town
*Read any book with a predominantly yellow cover

Let us know if you choose to accept any of these challenges and what you read! :)

Courtnie (bookcupidity) Missouri author FTW! Jim Butcher has been on my to-read for far to long. Storm Front, here I come.

Why not? I'm doing the Big Library Read A Pedigree To Die For, how conveniently it fits here! ;)

I take it you've enjoyed him?

Dorothea | 38 comments I downloaded the Big Library Read yesterday, but haven't cracked it open yet. Maybe tonight!

Kelly (and the Book Boar) June is the month for weddings so I'm reading A Song of Ice and Fire #1-4: A Game of Thrones/A Clash of Kings/A Storm of Swords/A Feast for Crows. George R.R. Martin is great at weddings ; )

Pam (psvogt) | 31 comments It's a fun series! I read it several months ago. In fact I'm ready for book 4. Hope you enjoy it too!

I did enjoy it and felt like it ended strong. Melanie also gave me a few laughs. :)

Carrie (whatcarriereads) | 11 comments Several aspects of the June challenge I need to address, all by Southern author Mary Kay Andrews:
June & weddings - Hissy Fit. The story of a southern woman and the epic hissy fit (and the aftermath) that she throws when she discovers her fiance with another women (don't want to spoil it) in the ladies room at HER rehearsal dinner! Nobody throws a hissy fit like a "southern belle".
Beach Read #1 - Savannah Breeze. The story of a woman, a no-good scoundrel and how she gets revenge. Part of it is set on Tybee Island and a "vintage" 1950s motel that gets a face-lift and a second lease on life, at the same time giving our heroine a new business opportunity. The other part takes place in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and involvs yachts and her grandfather in a sting operation that will have you rolling on the floor laughing.
Beach Read #2 - Summer Rental takes place on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (a group of barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina, picture 100s of miles of beach!). It's about the enduring power of women friends, summer, new beginnings and taking the next step in life. I wish I could rent a beach cottage for a month like the characters in the book. The Outer Banks is absolutely gorgeous!

I used to spend summers with my aunt in Hubert, NC which is a hop, skip and a jump from the outer banks. We'd go spend days at the beach and take pictures of all the lovely lighthouses :) I'm going to take a look at Mary Kay Andrews.
