Discuss part 3 and the full book.

Irene | 1877 comments I read this one over the summer and loved it. All those unexpected twists were fantastic. Waters mirrors the classical Victorian novel so well, yet somehow makes it feel sufficiently modern.

Pallavi (bookfetisher) Part-3 is more of a kind of conclusion to all the mysteries. Liked it very much and more over I loved the ending.
Here the narration again switched back to Susan and so many questions are answered in here. I loved the ending which was much awaited after all the drama.
True, Waters has written the Victorian era story very well.

Britany OH EM GEE- I loved this book!

My Review:

Mike Classic Victorian, Gothic literature. Very intricate & clever in its layout. Easily read. A very nice diversion!

I really liked it! Some of the erotica was a little out there for me (I'm squeamish about that no matter who is involved in the relationship) but the plot and twists and the conclusion were all very satisfying. Maybe a little too perky of a happy ending, but it still had its dark moments, so it worked for me. I couldn't put the book down, so that's a good thing!

Irene | 1877 comments I agree, the ending was a bit too "perky" is a great word. But the twists along the way were wonderful. I did not see most coming. I loved the ride and, like you, did not want to put the book down. Sadly the next book I read by Waters was strikingly unremarkable.

Britany I completely agree. Oh no Irene- I added a couple more of hers based on how much I enjoyed this one. Which one did you read next?

Irene | 1877 comments The Little Stranger
I read this with another GR group and pretty much everyone was lukewarm in their reviews of it.

Well, with how much I enjoyed this one, I don't think it will deter me from reading others. I may just forego The Little Stranger and try one of her others. If they're only partly as enjoyable, they'll still be fun to read, I think.

Irene | 1877 comments I will watch for your reviews of any other books you read by Waters.
