Desolation Island by Patrick O'Brian"
Ah, Desolation Island is one of my favorites. And it is next up in my series reread.
(IIRC, they used just a bit from it in the Master and Commander movie.)

Desolation Island by [author:Patrick O..."
Interesting, I'll have to pay close attention and see if can spot what they used!
I'm just to the point where Aubrey and Maturin decide to take the Leopard to Botany Bay; it's amazing how much plot and character development O'Brian can shove into just 60 pages, and without you even noticing it.

(Listening to the audio version. It is a long one, as I have come to expect from Weber. I hope it doesn't get too bogged down in political machinations.)

The City Who Fought by Anne McCaffrey (ebook)
The Decisive Battles of World History by Gregory S. Aldrete (audio)

Sword and Planet edited by Christopher Ruocchio
Also listening to the audiobook version of Hard Magic by Larry Correia. I read (and liked) the book when it came out, but my goodness the audio version takes it to a completely new level!
