Is there a page number requirement for this? I just read a short kids craft book that's 45 pages and am wondering if I can use it.

No. Please see the Rules of the Challenge:
"One book between 80 -99 pages may be used for ONE 5 point task."

A 45 page book cannot be used in the challenge.

Okay, thanks. So my backup book for this task is The BFG, which is in AR Bookfinder, but wouldn't normally meet the requirements, as it is:

IL: MG - BL: 4.8 - AR Pts: 6.0

Since the task says books not found on AR Bookfinder are allowed, I'm assuming The BFG would be allowed, but could you please confirm?

If it doesn’t meet minimum requirements it isn’t eligible to be used regardless. (Especially since it is a book found in ARB).
That’s more for books that aren’t childrens but are marked that way on the main page genres. So they wouldn’t be on that site.

Morgan is correct - this exception is only for books that are NOT found in ARBF.
