It's finally here! We couldn't be more excited to officially welcome Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater into the world! This companion to the Shiver trilogy will follow Cole and Isabel through Los Angeles.

We'll be reading the book throughout the month, talking about our favorite moments; falling in love with Isabel's snark and Cole's, well... Cole-ness, all over again; and just enjoying the ride that is a Maggie Stiefvater novel.

We hope you'll join us! We can't wait to dive into this book and hear what you think.

(Since we're ALL first-time readers here, please be sure to note any spoilers!)

Happy reading!

Sinner

Eve (Functioning Insanity Reviews) (evilous) | 10 comments I pre-ordered mine to get the pretty slip cover extra she did and have it signed so I have to wait until it arrives :( Hope it arrives ASAP.

Debbie Krumme | 9 comments Waiting for UPS impatiently.

Eve (Functioning Insanity Reviews) (evilous) | 10 comments Yes and UPS has no status update on my 'track order' button...I've been refreshing it every hour. When I get home I might have to ebook it and start.

Same here! I only live on the opposite coast :P

Cecilia I pre-ordered mine, but I also pre-ordered Blue Lily, Lily Blue so...it won't come until that one comes out too. I'm sad.

Debbie Krumme | 9 comments I just finished Sinners. I loved it! The epilogue was perfect. I don't want to give anything away so I'll say, you won't be disappointed. What surprised me were the parts that most touched me. Quiet and subtle. I'll just say- an embrace at a mausoleum and then at the beach with her cousin and uncle.

Eve (Functioning Insanity Reviews) (evilous) | 10 comments My book is set to arrive today...sad thing is I'm at work. Per my tracking thing it says that it has been delivered so I hope it is waiting for me. If not USPS will be hearing something. That is my plan for the holiday weekend.

Eve (Functioning Insanity Reviews) (evilous) | 10 comments My copy did arrive last night. I wanted to share photos but I haven't figured out how to add photos to this site :( (if anyone can help PM me please). Anyways I'm working today, its dead so I have my sore knee (long story) propped up and I'm sitting back reading. Great Holiday plans if I do say so myself.

Rithika | 2 comments I bought this book yesterday on my kindle and i finished up today morning and i feel like i was expecting too much out of this book than what i received. Although this was a 4 star read for me, there were a lot of characters that i felt were unnecessary and this book just didn't make me eager to read more like i did with the shiver trilogy. Also, one aspect of the book that i didn't enjoy was (view spoiler)But i did enjoy the ending of this book (view spoiler) Also i did enjoy Cole's character since he was funny and i loved his sarcastic/ honest way of replying to anyone. (view spoiler) I also loved Isabel's character and I'm glad that we got to see her work through some of her problems that lingered in Minnesota

Eve (Functioning Insanity Reviews) (evilous) | 10 comments It was pretty dead at work yesterday and read through a good portion of it there then time with the family. I got home just shy of midnight and then finished it. No matter how tired I was I couldn't sleep until I had finished it and knew how it ended.

I won't give any spoilers but I adored this book. I love the way it went back and forth between Cole And Isabel. We know from their past in Mercy Falls that they are both battling inner demons and have issues with others. It was good to see how they continued to keep to who they are and who we fell in love with. I'll write a more thorough review for my blog soon. But until then let me just say I love it!

We love that you guys are such speed readers! For the benefit of anyone who may NOT have pre-ordered or bought the book right on release day, here's our reading/discussion schedule going forward:
Today - 7/13: through chapter 23
7/14 - 7/20: through chapter 41
7/21 - 7/28: through the end of the book!

For those of you who read this weekend: There are so many things that we're already loving about this book. Cole and Isabel are such pointy, angry characters, and we love seeing them come together and push each other away again. Some of our favorite moments so far:
- "What's the next meal?"
- House of Dismay and Ruin
- Cole and Leon

Do you have any favorite quotes or moments so far?

What were your first thoughts when you found out Cole would be doing a reality TV show? What did you think about his auditions?

And what do you think about some of the new characters, like Leon and Sofia?

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Carlee | 1 comments I LOVE THIS BOOK IT WAS AMAZING! Maggie Stiefvater did a great job. the only thing I don't like is the cover because it looks ugly and weird with the way Cole is standing, but I still love this book.

We're starting in on the next chunk of Sinner this week: ch. 24 - ch. 41!

Before diving in, we're dying to hear your thoughts about everything up to this point! What do you think about Jeremy? We loved the scene where Cole shows up at Jeremy's new band practice and has the run-in with Chad.

How about Sofia and Isabel's relationship? It's clear that Sofia really looks up to Isabel (even when she's being cruel), but we think that Isabel could learn something from Sofia, too. Do you agree?

And what have you thought about Cole's "stunts" for Baby so far? Would you watch that reality show? (We totally would...)

Also, page 81. And 118. And 136. *SWOON*

Julia P (juliagulia07) I only got my copy of the book on Monday (with the amazing cover!), so I'm a bit behind. I only just finished chapter 23, but I'm planning on reading more tonight. While I've heard a lot of people commenting about how Cole and Isabel always seem to be arguing, I've really enjoyed their moments together and appreciate Isabel's realism (I connect with Isabel A LOT, which is not necessarily a good thing).
Having Cole as the main character makes me think of having the side-kick/comedy-relief character as the main: amazing, but hard to have a smooth story-line and character development.
One of my favorite recent quotes: "I tried to think of what an actual human would say in this situation." (p. 166)
