*D?R?E?A?M*

The moment we utter this five letter word our mind goes down the memory lane very quickly. To be true scientifically, a dream is a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep.
Many a times dreams are manifestation of human feelings like success, desires, failures or even oppressions one faces at the hand of others.
We witness dreamy experiences right from our childhood age. *Do you remember your cute toddler smiling while fully asleep?* Dreams are generally expressions of what we see in our subconscious self. Some desires occupy a permanent space in our minds and eventually acquire the dream status. Yet many of them die their natural death in due course of our daily struggle of livelihood. I do ask many people what they are doing currently? why are they doing it ? does it help them to achieve what they really want out of their lives of 60 to 70 years?

We may have multiple desires which we try to fulfil in due course of time but there are always few special ones which are very near and dear to an individual. Unfortunately though many are not aware of what they really want out of their lives. The dreams are associated with the successes and achievements of others. Some of us lost their dreams because those could have been achieved conventionally in that particular age of lifetime. Typically these are the ones like during adolescence we failed to express our soft feelings to their ladylove.

We toil tremendously to fulfill the expectations set by others or those guided by the societal norms. *Just ask yourself....What's my dream ?* I would go a step further to say *it's a crime to die without a dream; but a joy to die delivering a dream* Also there are a lucky few like our freedom fighters who laid their lives delivering the dream of freedom which we are enjoying today. On the extreme side there are a select few who not only envision their dream early in their lives but they achieve it in their lifetime and become a legend to get followed by others.
This story is of a gentleman who has cherished this unthinkable dream of *MILLION on MARS* since his childhood. No dream is less important than the other because every dream is unique for that specific individual and is always challenging for him or her to achieve considering limitations of every individual.

This stroy is not a rags to riches one as many would like to berate it. It's a path of struggle from *DESIRE DREAM to DELIVERY*

Yes it's all about an icon named *ELON MUSK*. The brain behind *TESLA, SPACEX and SOLARCITY*. His story has been penned down in a book titled *Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future” by Ashlee Vance*. Before I narrate on the book, full credit to the author Ashlee Vance for putting mammoth efforts in reaching out almost all who were touched or rubbed the wrong way by Elon. His major success has been convincing the legend to agree to craft his life story in a biography. It's an interesting read. It gets into technical stuff at many places considering the nature of products it relates to. *I will strongly recommend all parents to read this and make their teenager children to read it as well* Elon has many pitfalls in his personality which are criticized by many. He kept on capitalising on his individual strengths like his ability to grasp newer developments, strong memory recalls, his sheer passion, perseverance to aim at his goal tirelessly and relentlessly. I think that was all in his genes. You will be amazed to read about his parents who use to take air trips across Africa and across continents when aviation industry was still in its infancy. Their motto was *just do it rather than only dream it*. That must have cultivated and nurtured the thought of *Cross planetary travel* in the mind of little Elon. This man has indeed made an impact on three industries namely Aviation, Solar Industry or energy and Automotive. All these were and even today are dominated by giants like Toyota, BMW, NASA etc. These behemoths were really like the Goliaths in their own rights who refused to break the clutter of stagnancy to bring about an innovation for the betterment of everyone. As always, Goliath refused to accept the initial success of Tesla and SpaceX and kept on ridiculing Elon in these endeavours. This is a classic story of struggle, return from the brink of total failure, tenacity to believe on the possibility of impossible and overcoming the odds. Elon has challenged the status quo in these industries, reached out to the right talent and gave them the platform while pushing that talent surpassing the limits of human capacity of imagination.

His journey is still not over. He is continuing tirelessly and relentlessly pursuing his childhood dream of *INTERPLANETARY TRAVEL*. In the hindsight he is also aware of the fact that either newer techno breakthroughs or industrial slowdown resulting out of global turmoil may hamper his dream. He is also smart enough to club this three ventures together to support each other to reach an ideal economies of scale so as to benefit the masses.

Today, there are many who may like him, hate him but not ignore him. He will be ridiculed and criticized for his autocratic leadership but will be admired for his passion and perseverance.

He will inspire you to *Desire.Dream.Deliver* for sure. Do buy and read it....

I liked the book a lot.
It teaches a lesson about "failure", presistance and developing big dreams.
It's a very good read, even if you do not like Elon.
Maybe afterwards you will understand him and his followers :)

Honestly I expected to learn more about him and how he truly think, his pattern of thinking and habits. This is the only way to learn and emulate other people.
Just 1 eg, It's nice to see he's extremely workaholic but i already knew that. The point is to know which kinds of mental process makes him workaholic in order to learn the pattern and emulate it.

Mostly Ashlee Vance has researched Elon's successes and failures, oh yeah and also on Justine's blog.

In short, I enjoyed reading this book and it's quite inspirational but it'd have been way better with more of him and less about things everybody can find out on internet.

I hope to read a full biography of him in the future.
