Jeff | 974 comments Please add the ASIN to this edition: /book/show/2...
ASIN: B017V4NUPO

Also, it seems like this edition: /book/show/3...
could be merged with the one above. Of the Audible Audio editions, there is a U.S. edition with the ASIN from Amazon, the one I posted above requesting the Audible ASIN be added, a U.K. edition (B017WJM1E4) and a German edition (B017XW6YJS). The remaining one, with no ASIN, appears to be the U.S. edition since it has the same narrator and other details, so it could really be merged into either one, unless there's some indication that it might be meant to be a different edition.

Thank you.

Actually, the ASIN you listed should be added to this edition since the covers match-

/book/show/3...#

And then, I think these two can be merged-

/book/show/2...

/book/show/2...

Strike all of that. There have been quite a few ASIN removals/moves that shouldn't have happened, so I'm trying to figure out what should go where. Something probably needs to be merged; I'll take a little time to look through these.

Cassandra (cassanj) | 4919 comments Okay, I think I've been through the editions, reverted changes that shouldn't have been made, and came out with one extra edition that I've requested to be merged. When all is said and done, we should end up with 4 valid Audible editions-

/work/editio... and this one (that's currently separated until the merge has gone through) /book/show/2....

Jeff | 974 comments Ok, thank you. I was also thinking that it should end up with 4. I did notice, though, that the one I had shelved previously showed no ASIN, but is now the one with B017V4NQGM (the U.S. edition with the Amazon ASIN), i.e. the one that is separated. It doesn't really matter to me, since they're both referencing the same edition. But I did also notice that the one that now has the U.S. Audible ASIN (B017V4NUPO) was the one that I thought was the extraneous one, with no ASIN, and only 3 ratings and the publisher name is incomplete ("Pottermore" without "from J.K. Rowling").

Again, it doesn't matter to me whether it's the Amazon or Audible ASIN, but since it looks like they were switched, I just wanted to point it out in case it matters to anyone else. Thanks!

It gets so confusing- bear with me! The edition you're referring to, which previously had no ASIN but which now shows B017V4NQGM, began with that ASIN when that edition was first added. It was removed and replaced with another ASIN, and then that ASIN was removed by somebody else, leaving it blank. So, I had to do some reverting, and it ended up with its original ASIN.

The ASIN you referenced in message #1, B017V4NUPO, didn't correspond with the cover image for the edition you linked; the Audible listing for that ASIN now shows the small bubble that reads "Wizarding World Book Club." Cover images must correspond to the pub details, and the edition you linked requesting that ASIN be added to didn't show that "extra." (Plus, it had already had a history with the original ASIN).

I did correct the publisher by adding "from J.K. Rowling," but I believe it would also be acceptable if it just read Pottermore.

I hope this made some sort of sense to you, but I was trying to untangle the mess while following all the rules and merging as little as possible.

Jeff | 974 comments OK, I'll definitely defer to you on the reverting/historical data; you definitely seem to have a grasp on that.

As for the images, I didn't notice, but now see what you mean about the covers. However, shouldn't the B017V4NQGM (Audible edition listed on Amazon) have the same cover, with the "Wizarding World Book Club" bubble? It shows up on the Amazon product page. The image on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ doesn't have that, but to be honest, I care more that it's really tiny even when you click "enlarge image". Thanks!

The only answer I have is maybe, but we basically have to give it the benefit of the doubt. Publishers reissue covers quite frequently, without changing other pub data, such as the ASIN, so when this edition was first added it's possible that the current cover image was the cover image for that ASIN on Amazon.

Of course, it's also possible that an incorrect image was uploaded by the user that added it, but without having absolute proof of that, the original cover image must stay per GR policy.

Jeff | 974 comments Got it, thanks.
