You are quick Oda! I was just off looking at my reads from this past year to find some. You always get books with cool looking covers :)
2017 has been a disappointment for me reading wise. I am dedicated to turning things around in 2018. I checked all my books read in 2017 and all of them but one were cozy mysteries! Wow. That is not good. I would say my favorite cozy reads of 2017 were Queen of Hearts
and Death, Taxes, and a Chocolate Cannoli
I did not read any disappointing books in 2017 so far so that is good news.

Best of 2017
The Hate U Give - 5 stars. Book of the year for sure. I read it in 7 hours straight, 8pm-3am and regretted n o t h i n g the next day.
City of Stairs - 5 stars. Incredible fantasy.
Shadowshaper - 5 stars. So vividly imagined and the audio is probably favorite of the year. I love Anika Noni Rose!
The Prestige - 5 stars. The best kind of mindfuck.
The Alice Network - 5 stars. I'm a sucker for dual storylines and Kate offers up some of the best characters I've ever met.
Honorable mentions:
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - 5 stars. One of my favorite classics.
Oslo - 5 stars. I'm dying to see this play on stage.
Worst of 2017
Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words - 2 stars. Absolute drivel.
Cat's Cradle - 2 stars. Vonnegut is not for me.
'Salem's Lot - DNF. Took forever to do anything and by then I was bored as hell.
Jane Eyre - DNF. It just seemed to drag. I read Rebecca in 2016 and much preferred it; wondering if my feelings would be different if I'd read this first, because there are clear parallels between the two.
The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo - 2 stars. Really problematic and ultimately disappointing. Shrill: Notes From a Loud Woman was infinitely better.
I need to get to the Hate You Give!! Everyone of my GR friends loved it. I have not heard of any of either of favorites ladies - I will check into them all.
